The country lost on average 1 1.5% of its GDP over the last 20 year

3 In which Community enterprise is affected strongly by disaster leading to serious economic losses Thus Enterprises need to have their business continuity plan (BCP) to build competence and readiness to respond to and recover from disasters which threaten to disrupt normal business operations However Most of Vietnamese enterprise is medium and small enterprise Viet Nam have to face to many barriers to BCP promotion in Vietnamese economy

4 Increasing loss of life and property Effect Enterprises can not receive the information When they can receive the information but they do not know how to process them and integrate them in their business plan. Do not active in disaster prevention, response and recovery No motivation to pay attention to business continuity plan. 8 Overall Goal Project Purpose Outputs Disaster Risk Management Raise enterprise s awareness on BCP for disaster resiliency Activities 1. Accurate and appropriate knowledge is made available and shared to enterprise at all levels A series of appropriate and attractive Handbooks on BCP principles and practices, as well as other BCP materials is developed and distributed widely to businesses both formal and informal The DMC website contains disaster information, materials for the private sector ( Integrate knowledge on BCP when conduct Community base disaster risk management for enterprise.

9 Outputs Activities 2. Do pilot BCP for enterprie to show the best practice 3. Disseminating important role and benefits of developing and implementing business continuity plan Provide essential knowledge related to BCP for enterprise; Identify there problem when disaster occur; Consult to help them make Business Continuity Planning; Showing the best practice, lesson-learn for other enterprises The important role and benefits of developing and implementing BCP is propagated to national and social media representatives and also on the DMC website; Banner, brochure or public events such as theatre, plays, shows and art events on important role and benefits of BCP is developed and delivered; The important role and benefits of developing and implementing BCP is included in workshops, seminars and conferences organised by the private/business sector (DMC will support on technical issues)
