7 Wisconsin FFA Rally to Fight Hunger 2016 You can help fight hunger at this year s Wisconsin FFA Convention. In the United States, one in six Americans will experience food insecurity some time during the coming year. Today, millions of Americans struggle with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days. Again this year the Wisconsin FFA is hosting a service event, the FFA Rally to Fight Hunger, to help feed children and adults suffering from food insecurity. The Rally will be held in the evening on Monday, June 13, 2016 prior to the reflections program. The rally will engage 400 members & advisors from across the state at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Working with Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin, members will assemble food packages to provide relief from hunger and malnutrition. We plan to package over 40,000 lbs. of food. We encourage you to sign up for a shift of the FFA Rally to Fight Hunger and show your commitment to living to serve. Shifts: Shift One 4:00-5:15 pm Needs 125 volunteers Shift Two 5:15-6:30 pm Needs 125 volunteers Shift Three 6:30-7:45 pm Needs 125 volunteers Set Up 2:00-3:30 pm Needs 25 volunteers Registration is limited and due by June 1 st. After registering you will be directed to print and complete a photo release that must be brought to convention for each volunteer. Register at: We encourage you to sign up to be a line leader during the Rally to Fight Hunger! It is a wonderful opportunity to work with FFA members for a great cause! We are in need of 12 adult volunteers to serve as line leaders. These individuals will need to arrive at Hall A of the Alliant Energy Center by 3:15 pm on Monday, June 13 th. They will be done at approximately 7:45 pm. Line leaders will be given a short demonstration of how the packaging works and then be in charge of one line of packaging for the duration of the event. There are 3 shifts during the Rally, so the line leaders would need to teach their new 10 participants each time there is a new shift. To sign up, please Beth at [email protected].
