Development/Distribution of Public Awareness material. 120 sheets of leaflet/handout in simple Kannada/English language and 13 NU-Power, International Journal on Nuclear Power have been distributed to the students and general public on various occasions during this month. 2. Electronic Media/Films: Documentary film developed for Public Awareness is uploaded on KGS website & it is utilized for PA programme on various occasions. It was screened 30 times to various target groups in April Approximate audiences were around Site visits at Kaiga site: During this month 610 students & other officials from various institutions visited at Kaiga Plant Site and they were taken to the Model Room and Simulator, after explaining on radiation, nuclear safety & environment related aspects through power point presentation. Public outreach activities of Kaiga Site: The following public outreach programmes were conducted in the month of April 2016 by public awareness committee for creating nuclear awareness among various students and institutions. i). One day workshop on Nuclear Energy and its uses to mankind at Gokhale Centenary College, Ankola, on 01/04/2016. The PAC, Kaiga Site has conducted one day workshop on Nuclear Energy and its uses to mankind at the Gokhale Centenary College, Ankola on 01/04/2016. The programme was initiated with the intention to create nuclear awareness among the students. The following areas are highlighted by the faculties Nuclear energy for better life with examples Need of electricity, Indian scenario Advantages of nuclear power Process of nuclear power generation, Nuclear power plant(npp) overview Inherent safety features of NPP Radiation- a fact of life Apprehension about radiation & facts Corporate social responsibility of Kaiga Site. The team led by Shri. Veerendra Danannavar, SO/D, KGS-3&4 conducted the programme. About 140 students and 10 faculty members attended the lecture session. ii). Awareness Programme on safety aspects of KGS NPP and Radiation Protection on 21/04/2016. A public outreach activity has been conducted by the Kaiga site in the month of April 2016 at SDM College of Engineering & Technology, Dharwad. There was a request received from the institution for conducting the PA Programme in the occasion of Technology Barrier Reduction programme at PA Monthly Report of KGS April

4 their college. Accordingly the officials, Sh. S.S. Managanvi, RSO, and Sh. S.K Subramanya, SRP, of KGS-3&4 participated in the programme and gave presentation about Safety aspects of KGS NPP and Radiation Protection. The session consists of various aspects of Nuclear power like, safety features of NPP, facts about radiation and nuclear apprehensions. About 100 students and 2 faculty members attended the programme.
