2 The NEDRIX conference is regionally focused but provides our attendees the same content and topics as larger, national conferences, while being able to reduce travel time and costs to gain the same knowledge/experience. We understand that each individual and company must be selective with their conference attendance and budget. NEDRIX focuses on ensuring that each topic is dynamic and relevant to today s business concerns, both nationally and locally. More importantly, we provide a lower conference fee than other conferences to ensure that individuals and companies are able to attend without blowing their budgets. She will take you through her organization s decision making process to acquire a system, how she structured the system, and how to integrate a system into operations. She will also discuss how user training and testing are the keys to ongoing success.

How do we know we are making the best possible decision? Dr. Carol Sharicz has developed a new model to help with the process that can be used even among all the uncertainty that we all face. It is called the 4-D Model of Decision Making. The 4 Ds each represent a step in the process that is clear to understand and to use. Participants will learn about the process and try it out! We ve all been there. Hearing a presentation on an important topic whose message is clouded by an overwhelming array of statistics and power point slides. No question: this content is important! Yet, many of our messages do not seem to connect with our audiences and produce desired results. The solution? Tell a story. The research is in. Well-crafted, concise, compelling stories create images in the listener s mind that last long after the presentation (or conversation) is over. Today, whether giving an update, pitching a new idea or securing funding or resources, stories can influence outcomes. This highly interactive session will provide practical tools for those in the NEDRIX community to get their message across in a way that increases the odds for action on the part of the listener. During the session, participants will do the following: Learn a critical first step: how to identify stories in your environment that resonate with managers, colleagues and decision-makers. Apply a three-step model to customize your story for specific groups. Start with the basics and move from a straightforward account to a story that includes both logic and emotion.
