EDLD 7230: Student Services Administration in Postsecondary Education. Covers theories, practices, organization, administration, and evaluation in the student affairs profession, including campus programs and student life. EDLD 7270: Overview of Postsecondary Education. Provide an overview of the history and evolution of postsecondary education, with a focus on the American context. Relate knowledge to the organization and socialization of higher education. EDLD 7920: Administrative Internship in Higher Education. Opportunities for interns to put into practice knowledge and skills learned during graduate coursework. Includes weekly online journal by student. EDLD 7970: Dissertation Seminar. Course is dedicated to the craft of writing and finalizing a dissertation proposal. While focusing on improving writing, students become acquainted with the process of conceptualizing, proposing, and conducting a dissertation. EDLD 8200: Assessment and Evaluation in Learning Organizations. Study of assessment and evaluation practices that enable learning organizations to use data for decision-making. Focus on student affairs programs and developing outcomes measures for assessment and accountability. EDLD 8220: Personal and Professional Development. Focus on college student development theory (cognitive, psychosocial, identity, etc.), strategies for individual/personal development, and fostering a mentoring culture within an organization. EDLD 8480: Institutional Research and Decision Support. Essential to the preparation of the successful administrator in comprehensive planning, analysis, assessment, decision support, and needs of the institution. Use case study methodology and IPEDS data.
