Chief of Staff, present Work directly with the Dean on all matters pertaining to the operation of the College, including budget and revenue enhancement, development and fund raising, planning, external relations, personnel, and policy development and implementation. Supervision and management of all the College s non-academic divisions: finance, human resources, space, external relations, program development, project management, and development/fundraising. Direct oversight of all administrative offices and functions. Represent the Dean to internal and external consistencies. Serve as confidential advisor to the Dean. Serve as liaison or ex-officio on all major college governance and ad-hoc committees and represent the College on various University committees. Direct the flow of information to and from the Dean with all college departments and programs and the University administration. Draft selected written communications from the Dean to both internal and external constituencies on matters concerning the College. Direct supervision of Dean s Office post-doctoral scholars and graduate assistants. Indirect supervision of all department staff. Redesigned entire staffing model for the College (~180 staff). Assistant Dean, present Oversee the College planning process and strategic information systems. Develop strategies for long-range effective resource management, anticipate needs, identify critical issues, and provide direction and innovative approaches to the Dean. Responsible for the creation and implementation of policy as it relates to the academic mission, administrative structures, and external constituencies, including advancement/development/external relations. Work closely with the Dean, associate deans, and department chairpersons with the design and implementation of new programs and policy changes to meet the research, teaching, and outreach missions of the College. Responsible for the development, assignment, and execution of special projects within the College. Responsible for strategic planning and various policy and program establishment. Supervise and coordinate proposals for college-level grants. 2
