OUR STORY Established in 2004 as a small design studio, Limbik s growth over the last decade has seen us evolve into one of the leading brand agencies in Cape Town, South Africa. And with our strong team, collaborative approach and unwavering commitment to strategic creative solutions, we re confident that the best is yet to come. 3 OUR MANAGEMENT HENNIEL SMIT Joint Managing Director & Co-Owner To say that Managing Director and Co-Owner Henniel Smit lives and breathes brands would be an understatement. As the son of an ad man, Smit dabbled briefly in technology before returning to his first love of branding. Following a highly accomplished decade-long career in the wine industry including the launch of the Rupert family s Franschhoek-based wine brand, Leopard s Leap (which rose to a top 10 South African retail brand in a period of 5 years) and a pivotal role at Asara Wine Estate and Hotel, where he designed a new business model and paved the way for the brand s now award - winning transformation Smit, together with his new business partners, took over management of Limbik in 2012 and repositioned the agency with a renewed focus on digital design. With a vision of delivering client solutions that incorporate world - class creativity, innovation and strategic thinking, Smit s ambitions have set Limbik on a course for exponential growth and success. Wilhelm Fismer Joint Managing Director & Co-Owner After almost 8 years of living and working in the UK, Wilhelm has returned to his native South Africa, to join his business partner and childhood friend, Henniel Smit, as Joint Managing Director of Stellenbosch based brand, creative and communications agency, LIMBIK. Prior to joining LIMBIK, Wilhelm worked for one of London s top Digital Media & Performance Marketing agencies, Unique Digital, serving as member of the management team and board. He was part of the team who ensured a smooth and successful acquisition and integration of Unique Digital into the ranks of one of Europe s top WPP owned Advertising Agency Groups, the SYZYGY Group. SYZYGY Group has offices in London, Berlin, Hamburg and New York. While in London, Wilhelm was a longstanding member of the IPA s (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) Search Council where he represented Unique Digital as a key player in the UK s search marketing space will be his 9th year in digital marketing. Wilhelm s experience spans across multiple industry verticals and during his digital career he has worked with well-respected blue chip international brands like Barclays, Avis Budget Group, Shop Direct Group, BSKYB, ASOS and Sainsbury s. Wilhelm entered the trade as a Paid Search specialist and climbed the digital media ranks over the years. More recently, he s been responsible for driving business development and product and service expansion. Wilhelm brings an edge to the already thriving LIMBIK business with his digital marketing experience and international business connections. He is one of three shareholders and joins Henniel Smit and Cobus Kok, as one of the three directors and members of the executive board.

4 OUR MANAGEMENT COBUS KOK Financial Director & Co-Owner Cobus co-founded Limbik in 2004 upon graduating from university, and from humble beginnings grew the agency to become an established player in the local market, gaining extensive experience in brand strategy, identity development, corporate communications, online marketing, and visual communication design along the way. He has a palpable passion for technology, design and innovation and spends his time between Limbik and his latest venture, consumer electronics retailer Buro. Not one for being idle after hours, Kok is currently in the process of completing his MBA at the University of Cape Town s Graduate School of Business. ALWIJN BURGER Creative Director Our Creative Director, Alwijn Burger, comes armed with ample awards and expertise across a multitude of creative disciplines. His skills span Art Direction, Graphic Design, Event Planning & Production, Styling and Visual Merchandising in fact, there s not much he hasn t done. From founding boutique design agency FLANCE, to winning awards for floristry, Burger s talents are diverse and numerous. With a deep love of detail and a wealth of experience in all things design, he brings a keen eye and a fresh aesthetic approach to the Limbik studio.
