Together we have gained fluency in a wide range of media languages and excel in technical accuracy, creative foresight and originality. Founded in 2003, Deep Sky rapidly transformed from offering only design and animation to large scale video production and 3D animation services. 4 MOTION GRAPHICS Add sizzle to your graphics with design in motion! We animate and composite mixed media elements using video, photography, typography, particle effects and CGI for commercials, broadcast packages, digital signage, show openers, explainers, sizzle videos and more. Our wide range of design and technical skills enable us to create unique and exceptional quality graphics in any medium, on any scale. 5 VISUAL EFFECTS Deep Sky s team of artists can tackle a wide range of visual effects from camera tracking, object replacement, CGI characters, particle simulations, rotoscoping, matte painting & set extension. We hire the best artists, and keep them armed with the latest tools and technology available. The result is a highly efficient team of talented artists and consistently groundbreaking work in a broad range of applications. With less of the bureaucracy of larger companies, and a core group of in-house talent, we decrease overhead while increasing project flexibility.

7 PROCESS Story: We begin by studying to fully understand your company and message. Whether it s for services, a start-up, product, app or for educational purposes that understanding matters. The best animation won t deliver the results you want without a great story. We know it s about the meaning, not just the amount of information that is stuffed into a video. Creating that emotional connection with your audience works and delivers results. That s why we aim straight for the heart, leaving your viewers wanting to learn more and craving even more. Design: When there are no existing brand guidelines or characters, we research visual styles and illustrated designs that meet your budget and fit your brand or message. Storyboarding: After the script and designs are complete, we begin story-boarding every shot in the video timing each panel to dialogue and providing scene animation descriptions. Illustration: Like everything else we do here at Deep Sky, it is all produced in-house. Every illustration is custom designed and crafted. No cookie cutter templates or stock content here! Animation: Whether we are animating digital ink & paint, After Effects cut-outs, Flash or Toon Boom Harmony; our animators use the latest Adobe Suites, blazing fast workstations and Cintiqs. We love pushing ourselves to utilize new techniques and animation styles, and your project benefits! Post: We don t just go straight to animating, ever! There is an important process that we follow to stay on time and on budget. Once storyboarding is complete, we edit and time each drawn shot with music, sound effects and voice over. An approved animatic keeps getting better with each round. One by one, each animated shot is composited with the edit allowing for continued viewable progress. This allows for your feedback and revisions during the production.

11 3D VISUALIZATION The talented team at Deep Sky Studios brings life to your project with their boundless creative vision, amazing technical skill and unwavering passion! - Gaylord Industries 3D animation is a way to explore and bring your creative ideas into a visual and immersive experience. With the ability to generate emotions and a sense of discovery, the moving picture enables the artist to express themselves in ways that an image alone cannot do. Encompassing the viewer in a specific space, environment, or location, the artist can move the viewer where needed in order to convey the right message. Unique 3D animation is our bread and butter. Incorporating stunning movement, sound and visuals that bring projects to life, our designs break free from the sterile 3D animations that are typical of many architectural projects. 12 OUR PROCESS CREATIVE The writing, designing, and development of an integrated artistic plan for a campaign or project is paramount. And we re damned good at it. PRE-PRODUCTION (PLANNING) Once you have a vision, you know where you re going and Deep Sky s talented team of directors and artists will help you steer the ship. A pre-production planning and strategy session is a necessary step for any successful project. A pre-production session will ensure everyone is on-board with the plan, and that we complete the project within your budget and timeline. Creative insight and development, creative briefs, scripting, scheduling, story-boarding, design and more are the focus. ANIMATION This is where we love to play! Our animation team is home to some of the most talented and passionate animators in Portland. Whether we are using 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, After Effects, Flash or Toon Boom Harmony, we will bring imagination, creativity and a bit of magic to your projects. Our team is experienced with traditional and digital 2D animation, architecural visualization, 3D animation and particle/fluid simulations. POST PRODUCTION Post production brings everything together for your walkthroughs, commercials, explainer, and marketing demos. After pre-production and filming/animation, we log, edit, animate motion graphics, VFX, composite, color grade, record voiceovers and master audio with special attention given to each component. We provide broadcast ready video to stations or dub house of your choice, and upload optimized videos to Vimeo, YouTube and other web based video sharing platforms.

13 Deep Sky Studios gets it. I engaged them to create a whimsical, animated short depicting 50 years of company history-- actual events, places, objects and persons over a half-century--with a scary and absolute deadline. Deep Sky was open to the team approach this required, enabling me to work closely with them through the research, scripting, production, and post-production. They drove the project forward, creating interpretations of anecdotal scenes, and working through the trade-offs and revisions that both parties agreed made it better. The video was delivered on time and on budget, and was a fun hit at a big anniversary event.
