An exclamation mark next to the card indicates a conflict. In the event you have a Resource Conflict do the following: 1. Double click on the BreezeCOM Wireless LAN adapter. 2. Select Resources tab. 3. In the event that conflicting resources are listed in "Conflicting device list", edit the Memory Range and Interrupt to values that do not cause conflicts. If you don't have resource conflict and the card still doesn't work there might be a conflict with DOS drivers that Windows doesn't recognize. 1. Look for device drivers or lines containing device or call commands in either autoexec.bat or config.sys. 2. Disable the conflicting drivers and devices and uninstall and then reinstall the card. If you have bad performance with the NT driver, try using a different IRQ, even if the IRQ does not appear in the conflicting list. 4. LED Indicators The LED indicators are very useful for checking on activity on the SA-PCR PRO.11 Color Id State Meaning Yellow Link Status Blink Scanning Yellow Link Status Solid Authenticated / Associated. Installation for DOS Environment 8.1 Introduction The ODI driver for Novell Client16 (DOS requestor- VLM or DOS shell - NETX). For configuration of NDIS2 stack you require ODINSUP program which is available from Novell, Microsoft web site or BreezeCOM Technical Support. The following files are supplied for the DOS ODI environment: brzwlan.com brzwlan.ini ODI driver file, generic version. Default configuration file. net.cfg brzsetup.exe brzsurv.exe brzwlan.ins Sample ODI16 configuration file Configuration application. Site survey application Installation information for Novell client (DOS and Windows) In order to edit the SA-PCR configuration file you must use the configuration application, brzsetup.exe. A sample net.cfg file is provided, you may edit this to alter the parameters, generally this is not required. 8.2 Installation 1. Ensure Card Services are installed and running. 2. Using diagnostic utility provided with Card Services (For Phoenix - pcm.exe and for SystemSoft - Cardinfo.exe), verify that Card Services recognizes insertion and removal of the SA-PCR card. 3. Create directory for BreezeCOM DOS ODI driver c:\breezcom 4. Copy all the file from the directory DOSODI on the Driver Diskette to c:\breezcom. 5. Copy the LSL.COM file to c:\breezcom. 6. Change to directory c:\breezcom. Then run LSL.COM. 7. Type: BRZWLAN to load the driver. After DOS prompt is displayed again, the yellow LED on the card should blink several times, then stay lit. If the LED is not lit please go to Troubleshooting. 8. If required you may run BRZSETUP.EXE to change the WLAN parameters and edit the file net.cfg and then return to step You may now continue to install the required network environment such as Novell, Lantastic, etc. 10. For examples of installation for Novell clients or NDIS2 clients, see file examples.txt in the DOSODI directory on the driver disk.
5 8.3 Using the Configuration Application. 1. Change to the directory c:\breezcom. 2. Run brzsetup.exe. 3. Enter the filename of the configuration file or a name of a file that does not exist in order to create a new configuration file. The default is brzwlan.ini 4. Enter the ESS Id as defined in the AP (if using default ESS ID no need to change this value). 5. Restart the computer or unload and reload the driver, brzwlan.com. NOTE: Default ESSID is ESSID1 in capital letters. 8.4 List of Parameters in NET.CFG FRAME frametype - specifies the Ethernet frame type bound to the adapter (see Novell documentation). IRQ n - parameter specifies the default IRQ for the driver. (INT is synonym of IRQ) If this parameter is not specified, or the IRQ is not available, the driver will use any available IRQ. MEM xxxx - specifies physical address for memory. By default, the address is provided by Card Services. INIFILE filename - parameter points to the brzwlan.ini file. It will first try use file specified by this parameter. If it can not be found then it will look in the following locations, the directory of NET.CFG or otherwise the current directory 8.5 Troubleshooting. It is important that the driver, BRZWLAN.COM finds the configuration file. It looks for the file in the following order: According to the INIFILE parameter in net.cfg Brzwlan.ini in the same directory as the net.cfg Brzwlan.ini in the current directory when running brzwlan.com After installation of a Novell client, two copies of brzwlan.ini, brzwlan.com and net.cfg files may exist. If Card Services fails to provide correct memory and IRQ, edit net.cfg and alter IRQ and MEM parameters. If the driver reports an error allocating IRQ or memory, the Card Services failed to provide the required resources to the driver, or there are no resources available. Reboot without EMM386 or other programs that may take up the adapter memory region. Change the IRQ or MEM parameters in NET.CFG to force the driver to request specific resources. If driver did not display message "Testing device" the Card Services failed to recognize the card, or to provide the required information to the driver. Check the Card Services configuration. If an error is reported in NET.CFG or BRZWLAN.INI The files are corrupt, or you're not in correct directory. The yellow LED blinks and will not stay lit steady after several seconds. The AP and the PC Card are not configured with the same parameters. Check the configuration, the built-in antennas are not pulled out, or the external antenna is not attached to the PC Card. If the yellow LED does not light or blink, the driver is not receiving interrupts. Try to change IRQ. Electronic Emission Notices This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules.
