We have designed this program with your business in mind. Our local Cooper territory manager will help you in any way he/she can to take advantage of the benefits of selling the Cooper line in your business. While you are buying directly through one of our select distributors, by being a part of this unique program, you will have a full Cooper team backing up your distributor. 3 Cooper Tire Medallion Program Annual Purchase Requirements Annual purchase requirements are tiered into three categories: Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Dealer is expected to purchase one-fourth or greater of the annual unit requirements per quarter in order to receive full volume incentive. Dealer purchases will be reported to Meridian Enterprises monthly by the Distributor. Unit discrepancies will be resolved in the following quarter. All returns are deducted from purchases. Cooper Tire reserves the right to audit reported purchases by Dealer at both Distributor and Dealer locations. 2

4 MEDALLION BUCKS PROGRAM Medallion bucks are split between Qualifying and Non-Qualifying units. Below is the Medallion bucks schedule: Gold Platinum Diamond Qualifying Units $2.75 $2.75 $3.50 Qualifying products include: Zeon RS3, Zeon 2XS, Zeon Sport A/S, Zeon LTZ, Zeon XST A, and Zeon XST; CS4 Touring; Lifeliner GLS; Discoverer H/T Plus, Discoverer CTS, Discoverer H/T, Discoverer ATR, Discoverer STT, Discoverer S/T, Discoverer ST-C and GFE (availability to be announced). Medallion bucks are paid quarterly by Cooper Tire. Dependent on the level Dealer signs up for (Gold, Platinum or Diamond) purchases must track to that level on a quarterly basis to receive full Medallion bucks. For example, a dealer enrolls in the Platinum Category Level. Annual total unit purchase requirements are 1,200 with a 600 annual qualifying unit requirement. On a quarterly basis this equates to 300 total units with a 150 Qualifying unit requirement. If the dealer has purchases in the first quarter of 200 Qualifying units and 150 Non-Qualifying units, the Medallion Bucks paid equal: 200 Qualifying $2.75 / unit = $550 If, however, the dealer purchases 200 Qualifying units and 75 Non-Qualifying units in the first quarter, the Platinum volume incentive would not be paid since total unit purchases for the quarter were less than 300 units. Instead, the dealer would be paid at the Gold Category Level since the dealer met the quarterly level of 50 Qualifying units and 100 or more of total quarterly purchases. If in the second quarter year-to-date purchases increase to 300 Qualifying and 300 Non-Qualifying units, Medallion Bucks would be paid at the Platinum Category Level and the first quarter would be retroactively adjusted to reflect Platinum volume incentive levels. If the dealer s annual total unit purchases of Qualifying and Non-Qualifying units move the dealer to the next Category Level at year end the additional Medallion Bucks earned will be paid at the time fourth quarter payouts are made. Medallion Bucks are issued in the form of a reloadable prepaid Cooper Tire VISA debit card. The Cooper Tire VISA debit cards will be issued by the end of the month following quarter end (July, October and January). 3 VISA is a registered trademark of VISA USA. Card is issued by US Bank pursuant to a license from VISA USA Inc.

5 Cooper Tire Medallion Program ADVERTISING CO-OP Advertising dollars will be earned for every unit purchase except for snow tires. Below is the Advertising schedule: Dealer All Units (per Unit) Gold Platinum Diamond $0 $1.25 $1.50 Advertising Co-op incentives are paid quarterly by Cooper to the dealer. Dependent on the Category Level a dealer signs up for (Gold, Platinum or Diamond) purchases must track to that Category Level on a quarterly basis to be eligible to receive advertising incentives. In each quarter, at least one-fourth of the dealer s total annual unit purchases are required for its respective Category Level in order for an incentive payout to be made for the quarter. For example, Dealer at the Platinum Level purchases 325 units of program products for the quarter. Advertising Co-op Dollars paid equal: 325 total quarterly $1.25 = $ Advertising dollars will be issued on the Cooper Tire VISA debit card along with the Medallion Bucks. The Cooper Tire VISA debit cards will be issued by the end of the month following quarters end (July, October and January). Upon request, each Dealer will be prepared to show proof of advertising to the Cooper territory manager or Cooper Advertising staff by providing samples of Cooper Tire advertising equal to or greater than the amount of Co-op earned in this program. 4

12 Cooper Tire offers direct mailing templates online at Getting Started Log on to coopertireads.com and 1. Click on the New/Build It button on the left-hand side of the tool kit main page to go to the template gallery. A drop-down ad size menu will appear. 2. Click on the arrow in the dropdown menu to view the template options available. Highlight the size of ad you need. The template(s) available for that selection will appear. 3. Click on the template you need and get ready to build your ad. 11

13 Cooper Tire Medallion Program TELEVISION & RADIO Television s Advantages Reaches a large number of people. You can be seen and heard on television. Adds credibility to a tire store. Television s Disadvantages It s expensive to buy television time and expensive to produce your own spots. There s no retention piece. You pay for more coverage than you can actually use. All three of our current TV commercials (CS4, Discoverer and Zeon) are available by ordering: #CS4-Beta Television is a good way to advertise if you use it consistently. You have to be one of the dominant tire Dealers in your market for TV to work for you. Unless you do a great deal of volume and have enough stores to service the television coverage area, TV is probably not your best advertising buy. Radio s Advantages Builds familiarity of your name in the marketplace. There s no competition fighting for the listener s attention during your spots. Can create an image of quality and integrity which are important in selling tires. Most cities have more than one radio station enabling you to select the one best reaching your customers. Reaches customers while in their cars maybe thinking about automotive performance. We suggest you use radio as your image building media. Advertising price on the radio tends to confuse most listeners so they just tune out your message and your advertising dollars are not utilized to their full extent. Instead try to point out your unique services available and build on your reputation as an outstanding tire Dealer. Two basic ways to use the radio effectively: 1. Consistent Campaign schedule enough spots per week to keep your products and services in the mind of the customer. Consider using a jingle and/or consistent messages to build a familiarity with the listening audience. 2. Spot Saturation schedule a large number of spots over a brief period, 8 or 10 per day, such as during the three days before a big payday weekend, with spots featuring special events, a special seasonal item or a special price promotion. Once you submit your order, you will be contacted by a Web Marketing Consultant to discuss the design and strategy of your website. When your site design is complete, you will be contacted once again for a Getting Started telephone training session on how to manage your website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Depending on your program selection, throughout the year, additional consultative updates are performed, as well as an easy-to-use guide on managing your website.
