2 Municipality Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) Municipality, the main operator on its geographic area needs, but also produces: Information of the people, premises, service points, Information of land use, environment, infrastructure (built, nature), plans, and location

3 Municipality Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) GIS tools can be used ( and are used ) as strategic tools supporting administrative, management and decision making processes almost in all sectors of local public administration Especially important in city planning, building and maintenance

11 Main target of the project To improve the availability of up-to-date municipal geographic data in public administration and private organisations To raise the awareness and status of Municipality SDI to higher level in National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) development

12 Objectives (1/2) To improve IT and Information resources and capabilities for establishing regional cooperation between municipalities in the field of infrastructure planning, building and use To improve municipalities capabilities to create added value to digital data markets To improve the workability of digital data markets To certify unified basic spatial data classification and conceptual model of municipal infrastructure

13 Objectives (2/2) To contribute to state sector GIS development so, that the usability of state sector GI in municipalities accelerates (no Browser solutions for municipalities in state sector GIS!) 30 Conclusions Trying to implement standards for heterogenous municipalities is a challenging task State sector authority GIS solutions should support comprehensive municipality GIS, not only browser solutions to municipality users and citizens International cooperation is needed Not only pilots, but building systematically to all municipalities
