We look forward to an exciting recital where every child has their moment to shine. Recreational I - Saturday, May 30th - 10am Recreational II - Saturday, May 30th - 1:30pm Competitive I - Saturday, May 30th - 6pm Competitive II - Sunday, May 31st - 2pm Ames Center (Formerly Burnsville Performing Arts Center) Nicollet Ave, Burnsville, MN RECITAL TICKETS Recital tickets will go on sale beginning Thursday, May 7 th. Ticketmaster ( or ) will start at 1:00pm or at the Ames Center Box Office starting at 11:00am ( , Tues-Fri 11-6pm and Sat 10-2pm). Please note there is a limited quantity available per show and tickets will not be available for sale at Studio 4. Tickets are assigned seating and all Ticketmaster/Box Office rules apply. Ticket Prices: Saturday Recreational Shows All tickets - $13 Infants (2 and under) Free (no seat may be used) Saturday and Sunday Competitive Shows All tickets - $16 Infants (2 and under) Free (no seat may be used) Additional Fees: Ames Center Box Office - $3 charge per order (regardless of the # of tickets) Ticketmaster - $3-$4 charge per ticket Any remaining tickets will be on sale 2 hours before each scheduled performance at the Ames Center Box Office. 2 RECITAL PICTURES - Competitive May 13-14th (No class Monday, May 11th-Thursday, May 14th due to pictures) Wednesday, May 13 th 4:30pm - Solo/Duet/Trio - Optional 5:00pm - Tots, Bitties, Minis, Dolls, and Rockstars 7:00pm Jewels, Gems, Teen Specialty, and Senior Specialty Thursday, May 14 th 4:30pm - Solo/Duet/Trio - Optional 5:00pm - Pearls, Petite Specialty, and Junior Specialty 7:00pm - Juniors, Company, Elite Company Dancers must be ready (costume, hair and make-up) at their indicated time above. Room moms please be sure to bring all costumes/shoes/accessories and have them available prior to the indicated times. Room moms will be responsible for deciding their class's order for costumes. Classes should take precedence over any specialty groups. We ask that the room moms of all classes to remain in the dressing rooms. Dancers must remain in their indicated dressing room and wait for their class to be called prior to each picture. Dancers will take an individual and class picture in each of their class costumes. Due to the schedule, pictures will not be held for any dancer who is running late. Please understand that the pictures will take awhile and dancers will incur waiting time in between pictures. Due to the space we ask that only dancer and 1 parent be present for this. Please make arrangements for siblings. Dancers will be excused once their final class picture has been taken. Please note no parents will be allowed in the photography room(s). All online orders/order forms and payments are due by Sunday, May 31st. There will be a Duet Photography drop box at the studio for anyone choosing to make a cash or check payment. Competitive Recital Letter Page 2of 7
3 DRESS REHEARSAL RECREATIONAL DRESS REHEARSAL - Thursday, May 4:30pm Ames Center (Formerly Burnsville Performing Arts Center) Nicollet Ave, Burnsville, MN All recreational class helpers are expected to help at the Recreational Dress Rehearsal for any of the classes you assist. See the Recreational Letter for rehearsal times. (Example: If you assist a Preschool class you would assist all the Preschool classes from 5:30-7pm.) Company, Teen Elite, Senior Elite Dancers will help backstage with younger dancers during both Recreational shows. Further details will be covered in the upcoming weeks. COMPETITIVE DRESS REHEARSAL Intermediate Comp Thursday, May 28 8:00pm Advanced Comp - Friday, May 3:30pm (Competitive I Specialty Groups) or 4:30pm (All Remaining Advanced Dancers) Ames Center Nicollet Ave, Burnsville, MN Doors open at 4:00pm. Dancers should arrive and immediately report to their dressing rooms. Due to the limited space and for the safety of the dancers only recital volunteers may enter the backstage area and assist the dancers backstage. All other parents are welcome to watch the rehearsal from the auditorium. Intermediate Dancers must be ready by 7:45pm Thursday (Intermediate); Advanced Dancers must be ready by 3:15pm (Sat. Evening Specialty groups) or 4:15pm Friday (Advanced) o Full competitive hair and make-up is required for this rehearsal Parents with costumes must arrive at 3:15 (Competitive I Specialty Groups) or 3:45pm (Advanced Classes) and enter through the Southwest corner of the building. Only parents with costumes can access this entrance. This door will be closed at 4:00pm. Intermediate costumes may be brought in through the main lobby. The Intermediate dress rehearsal is full costume and will start with Surf s Up, then run youngest to oldest. The Advanced dress rehearsal will be held in Competitive II recital order from beginning to end in full costume. (Dads & Daughters, Lyrical Production, and Intermediate Production group pictures will be taken throughout the rehearsals.) The Circus photo will be taken at 1:15pm on Sunday, May 31st. Dancers must arrive by 12:45pm to get in costume and on stage. As the stage needs to be cleared by 1:30pm for the auditorium to open the photo will be taken without any dancers who arrive late. All competitive costumes, shoes, make-up, etc. can stay at the Ames Center and will be locked for the duration of the weekend. These items may have to be moved to a different dressing room following dress rehearsal since recreational dancers will be using the space Saturday. Pick-up location following the completion of the dancers rehearsal o Preschool Area = the doors located to the left of the auditorium doors. These doors are accessed through the main lobby of the Ames Center Tots, Bitties, Minis, Pearls o All Star Area = the outside doors located on the Southwest corner of the building. See arrival times below: "Circus" and Dads and Daughters will perform at ALL 4 SHOWS (Recreational and Competitive). In addition some other classes and specialty dancers will be scheduled to dance at Recreational Show I and/or Recreational Show II. See details below: All specialty dances will be assigned a Competitive Show. COMPANY, TEEN ELITE, & SENIOR ELITE Company, Teen Elite, and Senior Elite will work the entire day and must arrive at 8:45am and report to the stage. Food will be provided for these dancers between Recreational Show I and Recreational Show II. Recreational I- Dancers must be dropped off at Comp Drop-off at 9:00am and will be released at end of show. Dancers in Dads and Daughters ONLY may arrive at 10:30am hair and makeup done. 6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RECITAL BEARS The Recital Bears will be available again this year. Order Forms will be available at the front desk. Info on deadlines and when bears will be available to come. T-SHIRT ORDER All dancers will be given a recital t-shirt as a gift to celebrate our 10th Anniversary Year. Dancers have been sized for a recital t-shirt in class. PICTURE COLLECTION Please drop off a CD of candid pictures for our picture collection by Friday, May 8th. Please note these pictures may be used in our advertising and/or recital program. RECITAL PROGRAM A list of classes and dancer's names will be posted on Friday, May 1st. Please be sure to check this for appropriate class placement and for spelling of your child's name. Any corrections must be made by Tuesday, May 12th. PICTURE/VIDEO TAPING POLICY DRESS REHEARSAL Parents may video tape and photograph their children, but no flash photography is allowed. RECITALS - No videotaping or flash photography is allowed. RECITAL FLOWERS Friends and family will have the option to buy flowers for the dancers at any of the recitals courtesy of Red Rose Designs. These flowers will be available through intermission. RECITAL DVD The DVD order forms will be available on our website at courtesy of Duet Photography. SUMMER CLASSES Registration for Summer 2015 classes opened April 1, The schedule is available on our website at Take advantage of the wide variety of classes Studio 4 is offering. 7 RECITAL VOLUNTEERS COMPETITIVE PARENTS We are looking for some great class volunteers again this year for our recital. There will be sign-ups posted on the walls beginning Friday, May 1 st. We ask volunteers work both the dress rehearsal as well as the recital. Competitive parents are always welcome to sign-up to assist with a recreational class. Recreational Dress Rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday, May 28 th, starting at 4:30pm. Responsibilities/Details: Assist with Dress Rehearsal AND Recital. Volunteer check-in will take place at the "Competitive Dancer Drop-Off Area". Please arrive minutes before indicated dancer arrival times each day. Upon check-in please proceed to indicated dressing room/waiting area. Please do not be late as we do not want any dancers unattended in their rooms. Remain with dancers in their indicated areas and assist them with costumes. Help make sure costume and costume pieces are all accounted for. Bring dancers quietly to and from designated backstage waiting area when directed to do so. Monitor behavior during dress rehearsal/recital. No dancers should be leaving the backstage area for any reason during the dress rehearsal/recital. Dancers need to remain backstage from the moment they are checked in until they are picked up at their indicated pick-up areas following the end of the rehearsal/shows. Help ensure dancers pick up after themselves and are respectful of the Ames Center and each other. Volunteers are welcome to bring activities for the children to participate in. Stay for the duration of the rehearsal/recital and escort dancers to their indicated pick-up areas Do not leave until ALL dancers have been picked up by their parents at this designated pick-up area.
