5 G143 World Geography A popular option for freshman is World Geography. This class allows students to explore the current world around them. Six continents of the world are investigated by students to further their appreciation of the differences among cultures and the importance of physical geography in shaping societies. Discussion of social, political, and economic culture properly equips students for the 21st century. Combined with a daily conversation of current events students cannot help but be better informed of their surroundings. G146 World History Our World History classes take students from the cradle of civilization to the hot bed of issues changing the contemporary world. This course will help students understand the background of events making newspaper headlines today. The journey begins in Ancient Egypt and the Fertile Crescent where civilizations began, then moves to the Far East to understand beliefs such as Confucianism and Taoism. After a study of Western Civilization, the journey ends with the current world. By this time students will have the proper background to understand the world around them and become positive contributors to society. G339 AP World History This course is specifically designed as a college level course with the opportunity to earn college credit. This course is aimed at advanced freshmen who want to develop the reading, writing, and critical thinking skills that are essential for a successful high school college prep (AP) career.
