3 Tech Prep What is Tech Prep? Tech Prep Is a combined effort between Minico High School and the College of Southern Idaho. Tech Prep Provides students with a seamless education that will lead them to the development of a high level of technical career guidance activities in high school. Tech Prep Allows students to receive college credit through articulation agreements between high schools and College of Southern Idaho technical programs. Students are able to accumulate college credits before they leave high school. Tech Prep Benefits For High School Students Earn college credit in high school. Jump start your college education. Eliminate duplication of courses. Save on college tuition costs. Save on college text books.
4 Tech Prep Credit Advantages Credit can be used for specific programs or elective credits. Credits are honored at all state schools and BYU Idaho. Inexpensive college credit, tech prep credits are only $ Students generally enter college with a 4.0 on their college transcript. Student Savings through Tech Prep Articulated Credit $28, $65, $94,000.00
5 Pre-Engineering Academy & Engineering Technology
6 Pre-Engineering Academy Pre-Engineering students have a great opportunity to prepare themselves for entrance into post secondary engineering or professional technical programs of study. Students who enroll in the pre-engineering academy will have experience in the following areas. AutoCAD Solid Works Robotics Laser Architectural Drafting Mechanical Drafting 3-D Animation 3-D Rapid Pro-Typing As seniors students are required to complete a senior project (this requires a year long commitment). Students are provided a mentor their senior year, mentors are people from the industry to help them with career choices and technical advise. Students are required to complete 11 academic classes and 8 professional technical classes. Students can receive 15 tech prep college credits.

8 Construction
9 Cabinetmaking Beginning students build a core project, which is a cabinet with doors and a drawer. In advanced classes, students design and build a project of their choosing. If students do not wish to build a project for themselves they may build a project for the district or other individual. Students pay for projects they take home.
10 Building Construction Beginning students build scale model houses. Advanced students work on full size projects for the school district and/or people in the community. We encourage students to do internships during the summer and/or during their senior year if they have been through the program. No cost to the student.

19 Networking Provides students with the skills needed to earn industry recognized certifications from: CISCO, Novell, Microsoft, Net+
20 Advanced Computer Building, Repair & Troubleshooting Students build computers for the school district. Students are responsible for repairing and troubleshooting any problems for district computers. These hands-on experiences benefit both the students and our district.

23 Child Development & Parenting Fetal Development Month By Month Prenatal Care Labor & Delivery Create Birthing Plans Newborn born care Child Development from infant to young child Positive Parenting Practices We have a Pre-school for two weeks for student observations.
24 Entrepreneurship Experience Entrepreneurship prepares students to develop an enterprise starting with a business plan. Students will : Research market Determine a need Produce a product Develop marketable skills Acquire business Managerial skills Experience vendor relations with a school-based enterprise.
25 Apparel & Design Clothing also has and continues to be an indicator of advances in technology. Fashion is both an art and a science, involving both creative thinking and the use of technology. Additionally, apparel reflects the economic conditions, current events, political issues, and popular entertainment of a society at a given time. Apparel related employment offers vast options and opportunities. Emphasis is on knowledge and skill development in design, merchandising, production, acquisition and care of textiles and apparel products and services. Instruction includes art and design principles, construction techniques, entrepreneurship, merchandising opportunities and preparation for possible occupational course work.
26 Culinary Arts/Food Production Food Production is designed to give students a foundation of experiences and training vital to food and nutrition careers. Students will gain knowledge and skills in food preparation and service. A variety of hands on activities are used to explore and emphasize topics such as: nutritional needs meal planning food preparation. Our courses are designed to provide experiences and skills that students need to cope in our changing world and/or prepare for their adult lives. In our classes we use: Mathematics Technology Science Reading and Writing Students will apply these skills to real life situations and in their employment. Students gain skills and experience in nutritional food selection and preparation that promotes nutrition and wellness across their life span.
27 Hospitality Hospitality is a course that will introduce students to the largest and fastest growing industry in the world. Hospitality careers make up of so many different professions. Our hospitality course is an exciting and interesting class.
