Part-time day Attend day or weekend classes on campus - usually less than 16 hours per week. Part-time evening Attend evening classes on campus - usually less than 16 hours per week. Study now. For apprentices and trainees As an apprentice or trainee, you ll learn important industry and employability skills with North Coast TAFE, while working with your employer. North Coast TAFE is the largest provider of apprenticeship and traineeship qualifications in the region - talk to us ( ) about how we can help you make the most of your time as an apprentice or trainee. For business owners At North Coast TAFE, we recognise that every business is different. No matter how big or small your business, or what industry you re in, North Coast TAFE is ready to help you achieve your goals for success and growth. We can design a training program that targets the specific skills your business wants to build and deliver it where and when you need it. Fees and charges When you enrol in a course the fee you are charged covers the whole qualification, rather than a semester or year. The amount you pay will depend on your course and whether you are eligible to receive any fee concession. For full information on eligibility visit smartandskilled.nsw.gov.au If you have previous study, work or important life experience that is relevant to your course you may also be entitled to a fee reduction through recognition of prior learning (known as RPL) or credit transfer from another course. For more details about what RPL is and how to apply for it please visit the Recognition of Prior Learning section under Getting started on our website. There may also be some other costs for items such as textbooks, personal protective equipment, and/or industry equipment or excursions (optional) you may need to enhance your learning experience. We will let you know about these when you enrol. Different fee structures apply to other types of courses offered by North Coast TAFE including: fee for service courses (non-subsidised), short courses, VET FEE-HELP courses; courses for international students, temporary visa holders and interstate students, and TAFE-delivered vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses for HSC students. 6 2016 COURSE GUIDE How you can pay You can choose from a range of easy, flexible payment options including: paying by instalments using direct debit applying for VET FEE-HELP (available on selected courses) to defer payment until later paying in full at time of enrolment via EFTPOS, credit card, cheque or BPay. Payment is simple to arrange, contact us ( ) to discuss what s best for you and we ll arrange the rest. It s that simple! Support with payment Depending on your circumstances, you may receive support with fees. For example, if you are: employed your employer may be willing to pay for your course, especially if it benefits your workplace with a Job Active Agency - they may be willing to fund your study in an approved eligible course - you may be able to receive an exemption or concession aged between 15 and 30 and meet the eligibility criteria you may get a NSW Government fee-free scholarship. Many of our courses are also eligible for Austudy, Abstudy or VET FEE-HELP. Everything we do is geared towards helping you there s support for your learning, access to libraries, online resources and careers advice don t hold back, talk to us about taking the next step towards your success! VET FEE-HELP allows you to study now and pay later. You can complete your course and repay it when your income reaches a certain level. To find out more about fees, concessions, fee exemptions and fee-free scholarships visit our website or call us on TVET (TAFE at School) If you re heading into Year 11 or 12 get a head start on a career by gaining a nationally recognised qualification as part of your HSC through TAFE-delivered vocational education and training (TVET). With a wide range of TVET courses available, you ll learn practical life skills that are useful whether you choose to go on to tertiary study, or to join the workforce when you leave school. Whether you re just starting at the tertiary level or returning after a break our exceptional support services are here to help. We also want to see you reach your goals to give you the best chance of pursuing your passion, starting with nailing your studies and then applying your skills in the real world. Our on campus Learner Support Centres and Libraries will help you develop your study skills and support you in improving your language, literacy and numeracy skills. Our disability teacher consultants and career counsellors can provide you with the advice and support you need. We want everyone to succeed. HIGH SCHOOL TAFE at School If you re a student in Year 11 or 12, you can take up TAFE-delivered vocational education and training (TVET) and gain nationally recognised qualifications as part of your HSC. Certificate I and II Aimed at building foundation skills and preparing you for further study or work in an industry area of your choice. Entry-level qualification to work in a range of related industries. Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Degree A TAFENSW Higher Education qualification such as a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Degree will give you all the benefits of university study. + Industry ready practical skills TAFE qualifications are known for. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer Have the skills and knowledge that you have gained previously in work, study and life recognised. This may reduce your study time and course fees. Certificate III and IV These courses build expertise and capability in your chosen industry area. (May involve undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship.) Entry-level qualification to work in a range of related industries. UNIVERSITY TAFE 2 University Did you know that a TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up to 50% advanced standing in a university degree? With some Advanced Diplomas or Associate Degrees, you receive even more credit.
