1 Smart and Skilled: 2015 s, fees and subsidies V3 NSW DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRY VERSION 3.0 OCTOBER

2 State of New South Wales through Department of Industry, Skills and Development Disclaimer: The information contained in this publication is based on knowledge and understanding at the time of writing (October 2015).

3 2015 Schedule of prices, fees and subsidies This Schedule details updates to the 2015 NSW Skills List qualifications eligible for government subsidy under Smart and Skilled. The total price of each qualification, loadings to training providers where applicable and student fees in 2015 are listed. s are listed in alphabetical order by course title. Smart and Skilled: Training provider guide to 2015 prices, fees and subsidies gives detailed information on prices, loadings, fees, concessions and fee administration at ed/prices_fees/2015_provider_guide.pdf. The total price of a qualification is the amount paid to the training provider and reflects the efficient cost to deliver training. This price is made up of a government subsidy and a student fee. Student fee + Subsidy to provider = price Loadings to providers Loadings will be paid to providers to meet the higher cost of training for disadvantaged students (needs loading for Aboriginal students [15 per cent], students with a disability [15 per cent], long term [10 per cent]) and students in regional and remote areas (location loading). A Smart and Skilled provider can claim a maximum of one location loading and one needs loading per student per commencement. s and fees for RPL and part qualifications s and fees for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competency (RCC), credit transfer and part qualifications are outlined in Smart and Skilled: Training provider guide to 2015 prices, fees and subsidies. Student fees Fees listed are for the full qualification, rather than the previous practice of paying by the year. The training provider may spread the fee payable across the duration of the course. All providers will charge the same total student fee. Fees are listed for students commencing their first post school qualification and for those commencing a second or further qualification. Foundation Skills courses, traineeships and fees for year olds will be at the first post-school qualification fee. Fees for apprentices and trainees The Schedule indicates where funded qualifications are offered as apprenticeships or traineeships and the student fee for each. Concessions and exemptions from fees Students may be eligible for a concession or fee exemption. The concession fee is listed for each qualification. Students will need to check with their approved training provider on eligibility for concessions or exemptions and the evidence required. Student loans Eligible Diploma and Advanced Diploma students have access to VET FEE-HELP loans that do not have to be repaid until their income reaches a set level. More information is available from approved training providers. information For further information about Smart and Skilled go to training.nsw.gov.au/smartandskilled. Students are able to check eligibility for Smart and Skilled, get an estimate of the fee for each qualification and find out where they can study, at the Smart and Skilled website
