All the interested bidders should register themselves in the e procurement system for submitting the bids online, if they have not done earlier. Page 2

3 b) The EOI document and further corrigendum, if any can also be downloaded from bank s website EOI documents received after closing of the bid in the e-procurement system are summarily rejected without any reason. c) All supporting documents should be given in physical form only. d) EOI documents will be opened online and all supporting document will be opened in physical form. Bidders may view the details through their terminal using their e-procurement [ registration login. EOI documents will be opened in presence of the Vendors representative who chooses to attend. e) Queries will not be entertained upto EOI Submission date, however, queries if any, may be raised by the bidder at the time of presentation. 4 End to End Solution for Enterprise Data Warehouse 1. INTRODUCTION Punjab National Bank (PNB) is a public sector bank with more than 120 years of strong existence and over 6700 branches including foreign branches. PNB had adopted Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) system in the year 2007 and now desires to revamp the existing functionality either by enhancing the current solution or deploying a new solution by exploring new compatible technologies from vendors. The existing setup of EDW at PNB is as under: a) Hardware and software components of M/s IBM Ltd. b) Reporting tool of Business Objects from M/S SAP Ltd. The setup provides information by exploiting historical and current data from all source systems in PNB such as Risk Management including business risk, financial risk, and transaction risk in term of Basel II, & CRM (Customer Relationship Management), asset and liability management (ALM) on SAS Platform, Finacle in CBS, ATM Switch, Overseas entities, Treasury, Ladder, HRMS, IBS, Mobile banking, etc. 2. OBJECTIVE The objective of this EOI is to identify reputed vendor/bidder/consortium having: suitable capacity, capability & experience interest in providing an end to end solution in EDW ability to protect our existing investment in EDW to the extent possible Bids should also include complete solution, implementation plan and maintenance and management plan for 5 years. 3. SCOPE OF WORK The Proposed enterprise intelligence end to end solution should encompass, but not limited to, the following architecture: a) Capability: i. To handle data with more than 2000 concurrent users. ii. Coverage of entire data sources and should cover data of entire Organization. iii. System should be capable of handling structured and unstructured data. iv. BI based on the latest technology (e.g. Hadoop, Data Lake, Data Discovery, etc.). v. High availability of solution for at least 99.5%. Page 4

5 b) Responsiveness: System should be capable of providing least processing time and higher availability of database required for adhoc query purpose and/or for report generation. c) Delivers actual desired Output: Data model, analytical applications and tools, etc. in conjunction with maintenance on their own capacity and adhering to the technical and operational specifications of the Bank. Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) process should be designed to be capable of processing data on real time basis. d) Integration: The solution can blend with least changes/modification in existing structured / unstructured data and system components setup wherever practicable. It may be capable to take feed from source system on real time basis for reporting. Bank is having BO SAP solution with it and new solution should support reporting through existing BO SAP solution. e) Scalability of the proposed technology keeping in mind new technologies emerging for catering to future needs. The DW platform should contain capabilities to scale horizontally. Size of database may vary after doing the assessment of data coming from various existing sources or from sources as per future needs. System built must be capable of processing incremental 100 GB of data and overall DB size of more than 200 TB with high level of scalability and response time. f) Implementation and maintenance of necessary hardware, operating system, a relational database management system (RDBMS) and/or off-the-shelf software required for a comprehensive "Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence System (DWBIS). g) Security and DR setup capabilities along with DB archival system. h) Presently Bank is using BO tools for reporting vendor/bidder should provide its utilization in proposed solution to ensure better TCO for the Bank. NOTE: i. Interested applicants may suggest any alternate technology which is able to meet the above scope of work. ii. The applicants may please note that the above parameters may be further elaborated, viz., more details may be included in the RFP document to be issued as a result of evaluation process of EOIs. 4. VENDOR/BIDDER RELATED INFORMATION FOR EOI Sr. No. Eligibility Criteria 1. Should have supplied, installed and implemented the proposed EDW solution: a) In any scheduled commercial bank / financial institution / Public Ltd. Company in India or all over world. b) Of size of 30 TB and above on the proposed platform, in any Business enterprise. 3. Should be a registered company in India as per the Companies Act or have its Registered office within the jurisdiction of India. - Implementation Duration - Number of concurrent users - Security and scalability - Coverage of entire Organization ii. Certificate from organization where EDW Solution had been installed. iii. List of the reference sites iv. Certificate of Incorporation issued under Companies Act 4. Should be OEM or Authorized Representative of the solution proposed. In case of Authorized Representative, letter of Authorization to be produced. v. In case of OEM a letter of Self-declaration vi. In case of Authorized Representative, a letter of Authorization from OEM. 5. Financial Status of bidder vii. Latest two financial years Audited Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss Account. Skilled staff and the skill set required for implementing the proposed solution should be explicitly specified along with full manpower requirements. 3. If the prime vendor/bidder/consortium is the original data warehouse technology provider it should necessarily own the IP rights for the proposed Enterprise Data Warehouse technology (Hardware, Database and the Data Model) OR in Required Document Copy of Certificate, if bidder is having CMMI Certificate Provide the list of skilled staff with their experience and Education status Certificates to this effect Page 6

7 the case of the system integrator, it should have relevant written approval / permission for the third party data warehouse technology tools/applications they intend to propose for this particular EDW project. 5. PROCESS FOR EVALUATION OF EOI BIDS a) The vendor/bidder shall give a presentation of proposed solution before the Bank s Technical Evaluation Committee. b) Members of the EOI Technical Evaluation Committee will put up the review to authorities after seeing the vendor/bidder s response, presentations and their capabilities demonstrated. c) After technical evaluation, Bank reserves the right to go for closed RFP or open RFP. d) The decision of the Bank in this regard shall be the final. 6. PROCESS FOR SUBMISSION OF EOI BIDS a) Vendor/Bidder meeting the above criteria and interested in providing the services detailed above may submit their response to the Expression of Interest as per formats given in annexure (I to VII) latest by 4 PM on xx.xx After the said date and time no response will be entertained. b) The response may be submitted to Chief IT Procurement Department, IT Division, 5, Sansad Marg New Delhi. In case of any clarification you may contact at or at itdhw@pnb.co.in. c) The response will only be acceptable if it is provided in both the formats (hardcopy and softcopy) duly numbered. d) The bank reserves the right to examine/ verify the supportive documents/ reports furnished by the bidders by inspection/ site visit by its officers and /or technical consultant appointed by the Bank. e) If any information or document provided in the response to this EOI is found to be wrong subsequently, the bidder will be disqualified. f) Bids will be opened in presence of the vendor/bidders representative who chooses to attend. g) Queries will not be entertained upto EOI Submission date, however, queries if any may be raised by the bidder at the time of presentation h) Presentations will be held within 1 week of the closure of bid. Disclaimer: The Bank may reject any or all the responses received without assigning any reason whatsoever. The Bank reserves the right to cancel the entire process at any stage. 7.
