Must be between the ages of 16 and 30. Must be a high school junior or senior or be currently registered in any accredited, postsecondary institution. Amount: Up to $1,000 Akademos/TextbookX.com Scholarship Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States. International students with valid visas are also eligible. Applicant cannot be a friend or relative of an Akademos employee. The topic of the essay will be posted on the website as soon as the contest re-opens. 3 Requirements: Must demonstrate a passion for technology. Must demonstrate leadership at school or in the community at large. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Must show proof of need for financial assistance to attend college. Amount: $5,000 Coca-Cola All-State Community College Academic Team Must be enrolled at a community college through December Amount: Up to $2,000 Phi Theta Kappa members can also qualify for the Guistwhite Scholarship. Fridell Memorial Scholarship Open to anyone aspiring to attend a university, college, trade school, technical institute, vocational training or other post-secondary education program in the academic year. Amount: $1,000 Davis-Putter Scholarship Students who are able to do academic work at the college level and are actively working for peace and justice. Roberts Memorial Endowment Scholarship Must be a high school senior or a currently-enrolled undergraduate student at the time of application. Must maintain enrollment in said university for the full academic year (if you receive the scholarship). Scholarship selection is via random drawing. There are no other requirements to apply other than the two previously stated. Deadline: The deadlines for this scholarship are June 30th and December 31st each year. Amount: $1,500 National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Scholarships Must be a student member of NABJ. Must be a journalism major or pursuing a career in journalism. Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and have at least one year of school remaining. Some awards include additional requirements. Radio & Television News Directors Foundation Electronic Journalism Scholarships Open to enrolled students (freshmen excluded) who are pursuing careers in radio and television news. Templeton Fellowships Essay Contest Amount: Up to $2,500 First Prize: $2,500 Second Prize: $1,500 Third Prize: $1,000 Starfleet Scholarship Program Must have been a STARFLEET member for at least one year prior to the scholarship deadline. Requirements: Scholarships are based on career field, so please read the scholarship descriptions carefully to apply for the correct one. Deadline: The deadline for this scholarship is June 30th of each year. Amount: $500 Student Academy Awards To be eligible, the filmmaker must be a full-time student in a degree-granting program at an accredited U.S. college or university. The film must have been made in a teacher-student relationship within the curricular structure of that institution. If the filmmaker has graduated or left such a program, the film may be submitted no later than one year from the filmmaker's date of departure. Amount: Up to $5,000 Gold Prize: $5,000 Silver Prize: $3,000 Bronze Prize: $2,000
12 Student Government Association International/undocumented students who exhibit financial difficulties. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Must have completed 12 or more credits at BCC. Talbots Women's Scholarship Open to women seeking to obtain an undergraduate degree at an accredited two-year, four-year, or vocational/technical school. Must have received a high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements. Amount: Up to $10,000 (Five awards at $10,000 each; fifty at $1,000 each.) Tall Clubs International Must be a Tall Clubs International member. Requirements: Males must be 6'2" or taller. Females must be 5'10" or taller. Must contact your local TCI member club in order to be nominated.
