1 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ELIGIBLE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS UC Irvine Scholarships Resource Center Last Updated January 2014 The UC Irvine Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships has compiled this listing of internal and external scholarship opportunities that are open for domestic and international students to apply for. UC Irvine has various scholarships for students based on academic achievement, financial need, city of residence, and special skills. UC IRVINE SCHOLARSHIPS For a complete listing of UC Irvine Scholarships and to view scholarship application deadlines and procedures, please visit Regents Scholarship (award amount varies) The Regents' Scholarship is the most prestigious merit based scholarship UC Irvine offers to freshmen and transfer students. The Regents' Scholarship is awarded based on the information gathered on the UC Application for Admission and Scholarships. No additional materials are required nor considered in the selection process. Henry Samueli Endowed Scholarship (award amount varies) This premiere scholarship, established by Henry Samueli, is awarded to outstanding freshmen and transfer students in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering. UCI Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship (award amount varies) This merit-based scholarship is awarded to entering freshmen and transfer students who demonstrate academic excellence, community service and leadership potential. Ching-Suei Su Scholarship ($2,500) Merit-based scholarship for an undergraduate student in the following majors: Asian-American Studies, East Asian Cultures, Korean Literature and Culture, Chinese Studies or Japanese Language and Literature. Deborah and Peter Pardoen Memorial Endowed Scholarship (award amount varies) Merit based scholarship awarded to students studying mechanical or aerospace engineering. Dr John R. Miltner Annual Scholarship ($5,000) Merit-based scholarship for undergraduate students in any academic curriculum. Dr John R. Miltner / Irvine Health Foundation Endowed Memorial Scholarship ($5,000) Merit-based scholarship for undergraduate students in health-related studies.

2 Dr Ryoji Yokoyama Undergraduate Scholarship ($4,000) Merit-based scholarship for an undergraduate student in any academic curriculum who has a clear and stated interest in advancing international relations. Engineering Dean's Excellence Scholarship ($1,000 - $5,000) The Engineering Dean's Excellence Scholarship will support meritorious engineering students who demonstrate academic and personal commitment to the school, university and their local community. Haggai Memorial Endowed Scholarship (award amount varies) Merit based scholarship awarded to an electrical engineering major student who is also a member of Tau Beta Pi. Jao Award in Asian Studies (award amount varies) Undergraduate student from the School of Humanities who is majoring in Pacific Rim Studies, East Asian Language and Literature, Asian Studies or Asian American studies. MEDELLAS Scholarship ($2,000-$4,000) Merit-based scholarship for Asian-American undergraduate students who plan to pursue graduate study in medicine, dentistry or law, and who meet the requirements below. Sylvia Easton Memorial Scholarship ($1,000) Merit-based scholarship for an undergraduate or graduate student engaged in the Native American Indian Studies at UCI or any Native American or Eskimo American student of merit attending UCI. UCI Alumni Association Distinguished Anteater Award ($1,500) The UCI Alumni Association Distinguished Anteater Award rewards and acknowledges current students who demonstrate commitment to UC Irvine through their involvement and contributions to UC Irvine affiliated programs, clubs or projects. The XIV Dalai Lama Endowed Scholarship ($10,000 for Fees, $2,500 for project costs) The XIV Dalai Lama Endowed Scholarship seeks to support students who have progressed in their academic study and personal achievements as to have a record of intellectual distinction and service to the community. The committee is seeking students with the personal characteristics of honesty, integrity, fairness and compassionate service to others. Applicants must create a proposal outlining a project for engaging campus and/or community members in increasing their awareness in one or more of the following areas: ethics, compassionate leadership, local and global responsibility, and/or peace.

3 Dan and Jean Aldrich Scholarship ($2,000) The scholarship is awarded to a student during their Junior year on the basis of merit with an emphasis placed on academic excellence, leadership, and contribution to campus and community service. Nicholas Aeberhard Award ($2,000) The Nicholas Aeberhard Award is awarded to an outstanding freshman at UCI.
