1 Senior School Co-Curricular 2016 Engineering Club

2 Rationale At St Peter s the Co-curricular program is holistically focused, aiming to challenge the whole person mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. The Co-curricular activities help students learn valuable skills for life. Including leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, health and fitness, resilience and most importantly learning to relate with others by building deeper relationships with peers and staff, and the wider community. The choice of Co-curricular activities targets the specific needs of students in Years 7 to 12. The Senior School offers activities each semester under the following five categories:- Physical Activity Academic Environmental Creative Arts Social/Cultural/Community The Co-curricular Program is facilitated both during and after school hours. Activity Selection Forms for Co-curricular will be distributed at the beginning of each term. The forms can also be found on the college website under Co-curricular. Senior School Co-curricular for Terms 1 and 2 will begin in Week 2 and finish the penultimate week of term.

Participants will have the opportunity to travel off site to meet with Engineers as well as compete in interschool competitions. Coaching Senior Boys Football in preparation for SASSA Running Club Training in preparation for SASSA Cross Country and Moruya Fun Run (Years 7-12) Squad Swimming Crusaders Languages Club Film Club Preparation for SASSA as part of Moruya Swimming Squad. Students will need to pay for pool entry and Squad fees. Crusader (CRU) Christian provides a relaxed and encouraging environment for young people to explore and grow in their faith. Students connect with each other over a light snack, games, discussion and prayer. Assistance and extension in French as well as German Students will have the opportunity to watch short films and feature films. They will be encouraged to make their own short films. Mission Trip Planning SRC Students will meet weekly in the lead up to the trip to Kowanyama in July 2016 as preparation for what the trip may hold. Students meet once a week to discuss and act upon issues that face the student poplace.

5 Eurobodalla Youth Stitching for Assisting Scrapbooking Floating Lanterns for Granite Town Gardening Blues/Jazz Band Board Games Minecraft Descriptions Student representatives for St Peter s participate in meetings and initiatives run by the local council to improve the voice and experience of local youth. Students sewing gowns for local cancer patients Off-the-page project. Limited to 5 students per project at a coast of approximately $10.00 per project. Working with Junior and Senior Students to create a St Peter s floating lantern for 2016 Granite Town festival. Students work to grow edible produce in the school s garden. They learn about all aspects of gardening from seed raising to cooking their produce. The College s Senior band. This band is for accomplished musicians who are invited to join. The current line-up will continue from 2015 into The band will perform at a variety of college and public occasions. Come and learn to play games such as chess, scrabble, scattegories, cards, and enjoy friendly competition with current and new friends. No experience needed, learn the rules and enjoy playing these together. Enjoy learning the skills and playnung the exciting game of minecraft Maths Tuition Assistance with Mathematics after school for any students in Years 7-12 Senior School Band Mr King our band master will assist our muicians for public performances in College and community events throughout the year. Crystal Growing Compettion Students will learn how to grow crystals with a view to entering in the Australian Crystal Growing Competition Year 9/10 Transition to Work Group Assistance with finding a school based traineeship or apprenticeship. Service: Library Monitor Anzac Day Legacy Badges Assist Mrs Ryan with library monitor tasks: putting books away, covering books etc Represent the College at local Anzac Services Selling Legacy badges

6 SASSA Sport SASSA representation and training is recognised as one of the key components of the College s sporting program and is seen as supplementary to the Co-curricular Program. Children who are chosen to represent the College at SASSA events will receive either lunchtime or after-school training. Senior School SASSA sporting teams will be provided with training sessions with a coach to prepare for upcoming events. Preparation training notes will also be available on the College website. (Teams will depend on interest levels amongst the students). Senior School Football (Soccer) coaching will be offered by Mr Field in Term 1, 2016 on Mondays after school. Senior School SASSA Cross Country training will be offered by Mr Field in Term 2, 2016 on Mondays afterschool. Rumer Williams Athletics 2015 SASSA Basketball team competing at AICES 2015

7 College Sports Awards Sports awards recognize tremendous effort and achievement in sporting pursuits including at inter-school sports level.
