3 Why Trade Team? Trade Team is a reliable and trusted source for contract and permanent labor. You will find that we work hard every day to protect the sanctity of that trust through a deep concern for our employees fostered through solid recruiting, development, training, retention, continuous improvement, and a commitment to the environment and overall common good. We have a deep respect for the corporate values of our customers and focus on fostering personal relationships - most notably by providing the skilled and qualified personnel necessary to support our customer s reputations for quality, service, and experience. By selecting Trade Team, you can be assured to gain an experienced long-term partner whose operations will flow seamlessly with your existing operations ultimately, mitigating risk. We thoroughly evaluate and plan for the administrative, personnel, and logistical demands of our customers and have assembled an all-star team that will quickly and efficiently respond to all of your staffing needs please refer to the organizational chart (figure 2). To maintain the highest possible standards of business ethics, professional courtesy, and competence, all employees are governed by a Compliance and Ethics/Procurement Policy. Some key elements that make Trade Team the best choice are: 1. Expertise: As our company name indicates, we have had a focus on recruitment and placement for skilled trades such as CNC machinists, equipment operators, skilled assemblers, forklift drivers/material handlers, technicians, electricians, and dozens of other trades people since inception. It s who we are. Trade Team will leverage its niche staffing expertise, knowledge, and competencies in skilled trades to enhance and strengthen your existing team. The industry sectors we focus on are marine, heavy and light industrial, construction, warehouse/distribution, and manufacturing and offer temp, temp-to-perm, and professional direct hire service options within each. 2. Infrastructure and Support: As a result of our association with and common ownership by Colonna Shipyard, Inc., we have access to the back-office support services of a $130 million dollar corporation with over 125 years of experience. There are 3 supporting human resources roles that Trade Team has ongoing access to that gives us an edge in the marketplace: Benefits Manager, Human Resources Generalist, and Director of Human Resources. a. Benefits Manager (Deborah Ledbetter): Deborah enhances Trade Team s human resources process by providing over 7 years of experience in the management of health and welfare, workers compensation and defined contribution plans, as well as, the administration of regulatory statutes including FMLA, ADA and USERRA. b. Human Resources Generalist (Natasha Puckett): Natasha enhances Trade Teams Human Resources process by performing advanced, specialized and administrative duties, to include but not limited to, administering various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel. Natasha advises Trade Team managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommending necessary changes. She also acts as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resources issues relating to employee relations (FLSA, ADA, EEO). Natasha holds a Bachelor s degree in Business Management in Human Resources, as well as, a current PHR (Professional in Human Resources) credential. c. Director of Human Resources (Viki Rodriguez): Viki enhances Trade Team s Human Resources process by providing consultation, advice, and supporting functionality on key decisions and projects as needed. Additionally, Viki supervisors and administers a 4 year apprenticeship program that includes 9 trades and serves as the TCC liaison for the program. Viki has a degree in human resources management and over 18 years of handson human resources and staffing experience.
4 3. Safety First: Trade Team considers effective safety, health, and environmental management to be of prime importance to its business and is committed to continuous improvement in all of these areas. Management assigns the highest priority to the safety and health of personnel assigned to work for us or at our customer s project site and to the protection of the general public and the environment. The prevention of occupationally induced injuries and illnesses is of such value that it will be given priority over operating productivity where necessary. a. Trade Team takes a consultative approach with ownership on safety improvements and strongly believes that accidents are preventable when everyone is aware and working to create and maintain a safe workplace for the protection of labor, contractors, customers, and visitors. In fact, as a result of our safety procedures, we have helped facilitate a lower Experience Modification Rate for our current largest customer, Colonna s Shipyard, Inc. Our overall goal is to protect both people and the environment and have zero accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses. b. We are well versed in safety orientation based on the staffing sector and have a wellmanaged industrial safety program. Further, we have recently invested in new training systems; hired an OSHA certified safety manager; continued to maintain our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the latest technical advances, standards, and regulations; and updated our overall safety standards. Our current safety training protocol includes, but is not limited to: i. personal protective equipment, hazard communication, confined/enclosed spaces, fire prevention, fall protection, ladder safety, ergonomics, eye and hand safety, OSHA 10 and 30 hour, forklift training & safety, respirator fit, harness fit, fire watch, Virginia ship repair safety orientation (VSRA), injury reporting, weather conditions, facility walk-thru, VDOT flagger training Our Candidates and Customer Profile Our current candidate database includes over 8,000 screened and qualified individuals with skills as assemblers, quality control inspectors, machinists, CNC operators, repair technicians, material handlers, equipment operators, all industrial trades, warehouse personnel, clerical/administrative, and supervisors/leads. Our candidates are screened by phone and personal interview, medical examination, ability testing, written trade testing, and a 7-year background check all managed through our applicant tracking system (Avionte). Because our customer s image is essential, our candidates have a record of punctuality, reliability, quality work, neatness of appearance, flexibility, ability to learn, and good speaking skills. To protect and promote our employees interests, we utilize strong oversight from Human Resources (HR) to manage compliance and to promote workforce diversity and training. Further, HR ensures our compliance with the Affordable Health Care Act, promotes Drug-free/Alcohol-free programs, actively works to place temporary workers in permanent jobs, and maintains a strong connection to area trade schools such as Tidewater Tech, Tidewater Community College, and the Advanced Technology Institute. Trade Team has demonstrated the ability to be flexible in ever changing trade requirements. Trade Team has always displayed and maintained an excellent management model in regards to their personnel. -Program Manager We have been using Trade Team personnel on a large road construction project. All of the Trade Team personnel that have been placed on our project have been courteous and professional and always willing to do what is asked of them. Our experience with Trade Team has been stellar with no problems! Additionally, our Trade Team operations representative has also been great to deal with as he is understanding of our needs in the field and always finds us the right personnel with the skills we need. -Superintendent Trade Team has always been able to provide all of Pro Window's strict staffing requirements that other agencies have all failed to meet. On numerous occasions, Trade Team sat down with us to ensure our staffing needs are met with the best people available. I recommend Trade Team without a second thought. -Operations Manager Our History and Growth Trade Team was founded in 2004 by W. W. Colonna, Jr., owner of Colonna s Shipyard, Inc. (Colonna s), to provide contract labor staffing for the marine/industrial, warehouse/distribution, manufacturing, and construction market sectors. Through the years, we ve experienced steady, systematic growth and we would be honored to continue this growth through a partnership with you. Our relationship with Colonna s allows us the full access to and support of their Human Resources, Payroll, and Accounting personnel, which augments our existing, experienced management team and processes. Throughout all of our operations, we constantly strive to improve. As shown in Figure 1 below, our improvement can best be measured by the increasing average number of workers placed per week over the last four (4) years.
6 Workers Placed per Week Figure 1. Trade Team s Growth from The figure above shows the increasing average number of workers placed per week over the last four (4) years.
