1 Roadmap f or El Camino College ADN Program and CSU Dominguez Hills RN-BSN Program Admission Requirements for El Camino College (ECC) ECC has a four-semester Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program. Prerequisite course requirements must be met prior to acceptance into the nursing program. Prerequisites include: 1. Graduation from an accredited U.S. high school or equivalent. 2. Acceptance as a fully matriculated student at ECC. 3. Meet the ECC Math requirement. 4. Cumulative grade point average of 2.5 in all college coursework5. Completion of all pre-requisite coursework (see table below). Science GPA must be 2.5 or better - all science courses must have been completed within seven years prior to the date the application for the nursing program is submitted. 6. Nursing Assessment/Readiness Test with a state recommended passing score (TEAS version 5 with minimum score of 62.0). 7. All general education courses and nursing courses must be passed with a minimum grade of C. Admission Requirements Prerequisite GE Requirement Anatomy 30 or 32* and Physiology 31*^ OR Anatomy and Physiology 34A*^ and 34B*^ Microbiology 33*^ English 1A (college reading and composition 1) with a grade of C or better Mathematics 73 or 80 with a grade of C or better, or pass the Mathematics Competency Exam CSU Requirement Meets CSU GE areas B2 and B3 Meets CSU GE area B2 and B3 Meets CSU GE area B2 and B3 Meets CSU GE area A2 Math 150 (Statistics) OR PSYCH 9A is required as a prerequisite for the CSUDH nursing program and meets CSU GE area B4. *Lab included in course ^Chemistry 4*, 20*, or 21A* is a prerequisite to these courses, but only Chemistry 20 or 21A meet the CSUDH nursing prerequisite and CSU GE area B1 Nursing courses required prior to entry into the program include: Nursing 48 Dosage Calculations* (2 units) Nursing 145 Introduction and Preparation for Nursing (2 units) Additional GE courses required for the Associate of Science Degree are noted in the table below: 1

Academic Requirements A minimum grade of C in all nursing courses and in the required GE courses is required. An overall grade point average of 2.0 must be maintained to remain in good standing in the college. How Do I Apply? Directions to apply to the nursing program can be found on the ECC Nursing Program website: Students are admitted into the program in the fall and spring semesters. Application filing periods can be found on the website. Prospective students are required to attend nursing program information sessions. 2

Eligible students are usually admitted every fall and spring semester. Students are encouraged to complete any lower division general education courses prior to enrollment. Admission Requirements 60 or more transferable college units (70 semester units/105 quarter units maximum accepted from community colleges and 96 units from a four-year institution) Current RN licensure in the United States or transcripts noting you are near the end of the program College GPA of at least 2.0. However, applicants with a Bachelor's degree in another major are considered 2nd baccalaureate students. GPA (from the 1st bachelor's degree) of at least 2.5 or higher is required. 3

In general, complete 300 level courses prior to 400 level courses 2. Complete 346 prior to or concurrently with 380/ Complete 346 and 380/381 before enrolling in 410/411, 420/421 and 450/451 BSN Degree Requirements: 1. Completion of 120 semester units (students admitted Fall '95 or later) with the required 2.0 GPA. 2. Completion of the lower division General Education requirement (48 semester units) 3. Satisfaction of the American Institutions requirement in U.S. Constitution, State and Local Government. 4. Satisfaction of Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) by exam or course ( 5. Satisfaction of the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) requirement or exemption and English Placement test or exemption. 6. Complete the residence requirement of 30 semester units earned through CSUDH while an admitted SON student. Residence units refer to those units earned at CSUDH while an officially admitted student in a degree program. Residence requirements for a bachelor's degree include a minimum of 30 semester units in residence of which 24 units must be in upper division courses and 18 units must be earned in the major. 5
