4 Discontinued Products/Product Migrations SQL Server Per Core Runtime Licenses Discontinued Effective with the general availability of SQL Server 2014 (April 1, 2014), SQL Server Per Core Runtime Licenses will be discontinued. Runtime licenses available through the ISV Royalty program are being offered for SQL Server product editions licensed under the Server/CAL licensing model only. 10 Preview of Upcoming Promotions for May 1, 2014 None New Product List Special Offers None Strategic Pricing Changes SQL Server Per Core License Price Reduction Effective with the general availability of SQL Server 2014 (April 1, 2014), pricing for full use licenses offered through the ISV Royalty program are being reduced approximately 24% for SQL Server product editions licensed under the Per Core model only. Affected Embedded License and Embedded Maintenance SKUs include: SQL Server 2014 Standard Core SQL Server 2014 Enterprise Core This change impacts the ISV Royalty program only. Current academic pricing policies limit price list increases to less than 10% per year, so the pricing change is being rolled out over multiple years. The increase effective April 1, 2014 reflects this ongoing rollout and impacts the Campus and School and OVS-ES programs only. This reduction more closely aligns pricing across Volume Licensing programs for these services and gives customers the flexibility to choose the program that best suits their organizational needs. This new pricing for USLs and Transitions will be available on the March 1st pricelist, and applies to renewing and net new EA/EAS/MPSA customers. Existing customers will not be eligible for pricing adjustments until renewal. Note: As previously disclosed in January, ERP pricing will also be aligned to Web Direct (MOSP) for Intune, Intune Add-ons, Azure Rights Management (RMS), Project Online USLs and Visio Pro for O365 USLs as well as associated transitions. This alignment allows for consistent customer quoting across programs, consistency between OLS and On-Premise pricing policies, while providing pricing flexibility for partners. Details In order to better align online services pricing across VL programs and to continue offering EA/EAS and MPSA customers the best pricing options for their investments, Intune USLs, Intune Add-ons, Azure Rights Management (RMS), Project Online USLs and Visio Pro for O365 USLs and Transition pricing is being reduced effective April 1, Below are details around the price changes: Pricing is being reduced by 15% in EA, EAS, AOS-C, MPSA (NGVL) and WW Government Partner for Intune, RMS, Project Online and Visio Online. Existing EES pricing for Intune Add-on and RMS USL will be decreasing by approximately 75% and 50% respectively in order to provide our EES customers with the most affordable pricing options. Intune will also be introducing a *NEW* Full USL offer that will be priced at $0.75. For EA/EAS/AOS-C/MPSA/WWGP customers the pricelist will be updated on April 1st, however you can communicate new pricing to customers as of March 1st. All Programs and Channels will adhere to our Price Protection policy which states that existing customers will receive the new pricing at renewal. Point Count Change Changes to Point Counts cannot be tied to a particular price list month. Point counts flow to downstream systems as soon as they are either set, or changed. While this precludes the ability to provide a 30-day preview on point count changes, it does mean that point count errors can be corrected quickly without relying on the following month s price list publication schedule. As point count changes will not be visible on the preview price list, please refer to the Product List for updated point counts in the interim. License point values (referred to as the Unit Count on price lists) are assigned based on a product s global base price using a sliding scale and are only applicable in the Open and Select program. Each product pool (Applications, Systems, Server) has a unique scale for assigning point counts. Miscellaneous Correction of Errors: Office 365 Government E4 & Exchange Plan 2 Prices Not Reduced It was communicated in the March Price List Guide: Effective March 1, 2014, O365 Government NET pricing in EA/EAS will be reduced by 3% for E1, E3, E4, Exchange Plan 1, and Exchange Plan 2 to more closely align pricing across programs. 12
