6 S A F E T Y Safety & Environment In order to develop leadership in assisting our staff to evaluate both potential and real threats to their safety, the following procedures are practised internationally: A safety officer is available at each location who ensures a high level of awareness through training and safety drills. Regular audits are carried out by global safety officers to ensure compliance. There is an IATA certified employee available at each location who ensures safe transport of samples. Through our involvement in, and continued support of, The International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA) and member companies, we identify the practices or procedures needed to improve methods, standards, safety procedures and rules used and observed, and prepare a guidance document. 6
