It was Ghana s leading discount house until 2006 when it was incorporated and given a universal banking license on 28th June Fidelity Bank has achieved many successes and won many awards with the most notable being; the Fastest Growing Bank in Ghana s financial history the Best Bank, Customer Care 2010 the First ISO Certified Bank in Ghana. 8 Oil & Gas Downstream Fuelling the economy and delivering value. The downstream sector is currently the most diverse and developed across Ghana s integrated oil & gas value chain. We expect that the growth in the sector will be accelerated beyond the average 5% per annum growth rate with the development of the upstream sector. The development of the upstream industry will fuel a domino impact on regional distribution and storage, barges, LPG fields and the direct and retail markets. 11 Oil & Gas Upstream An integrated value chain approach. The emergence of Ghana as an oil and gas producing country has been one of the biggest developments in Sub-Saharan Africa in the last few years. The Jubilee field, discovered in 2007, which has up to 700 mmbo of resources, is significant not only because of its size, but due to the fact that it opened up Ghana to new hydrocarbon exploration opportunities. About half of the hydrocarbon discoveries in Ghana are gas reserves. We expect the utilization of the gas through the Atuabo Gas Processing plant to support Ghana s energy needs and to catalyze Ghana s industrialization objectives. The Jubilee field which has a daily production output of 110,000 bpd will reach a maximum output of 120,000bpd by end of The Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme (TEN) fields is on track to produce an additional 80,000bpd by mid-2016 which will take Ghana s total daily output to 200,000 bpd by It is estimated that in excess of US$20 billion in investments shall be channeled to the sector over the next ten years. The Fidelity Energy, Oil and Gas Department recognizes the fact that the sector will account for 40% of Ghana s GDP in the immediate future. The Department also recognises the cascade effect of the sector on the economy and has positioned itself to provide financial services to the entire value delivery chain. This is seen in our capacity to lead arrange and finance various upstream activities including the supply of vessels to pipelines and subsea infrastructure. Fidelity between 2011 and 2013 financed all the patrol speed boats, surveillance aircrafts and helicopters required for the security of the upstream sector by the Ghana Navy and Airforce (circa US$ 300 million). We have expert knowledge and understanding of the Ghanaian upstream oil & gas landscape and provide needs-based banking services, with focus on execution and meeting the needs of upstream clients with tailor-made solutions.
