1 Computing Centre Rechenzentrum Rechenzentrum New -settings for POP3- and IMAP-users If you access your s via the POP3- or IMAP protocols, using an Apple- or LINUX computer and work with mail-programs such as Thunderbird, Eudora or similar programs the following information concerns you. This paper is not applicable for outlook-users. Thunderbird for LINUX computers and Mail for Apple-computers with POP3 are only examples for the new configuration. Other mail-programs and IMAP protocols should be treated in the same way. Apple users please continue on page 4. All information that interchanges between the exchange-server and the clients will be encoded from the start of the changeover into three new mail-environments. The protocols POP3 and IMAP will be replaced by POP3S and IMAPS. 1 LINUX 1.1 Certificates: Whenever you will get the message, that a new identity could not be verified, please choose Accept this certificate permanently.
