Theron Tim Timmons Memorial Scholarship Foundation DEADLINE: APRIL 15, This scholarship is available to graduating seniors whose parents/guardians are members of AAA of Tidewater. Other requirements include a minimum GPA of 3.0, two letters of recommendation, and an essay on How You Plan to Use Your Education. The scholarships may be used at any institution of higher learning in Virginia. AIAA Futures in Aerospace Scholarship DEADLINE: MARCH 27, This scholarship is open to seniors who intend to pursue a career in engineering or the physical or applied sciences pertinent to aerospace. At least two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded. AFCEA Hampton Roads DEADLINE: APRIL 15, 2015 Open to graduating seniors who will be attending a four-year college or university. Must be pursuing a degree in one of the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Alpha Delta Kappa-VA Alpha Xi Chapter DEADLINE: MARCH 20, 2015 All currently enrolled Chesapeake Public Schools high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in teaching may apply. American Legion Oratorical Contest DEADLINE: MARCH 23, 2015 (District competitions should be completed in January) Students are invited to compete in this contest by speaking 8-10 minutes on any subject related to the American Constitution. National top three winners receive $18,000, $16,000 and $14,000 scholarships. Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship DEADLINE: JUNE 1, Open to high school seniors that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college.

Bachelor-Benedict Social Club of Norfolk Debutante Cotillion FEMALES ONLY DEADLINE: MARCH 28, 2015 Open to high school females. Debutantes must have good character, scholastic achievement, participation in church affairs, and community service. 3 Chesapeake Council PTA DEADLINE: MARCH 31, This scholarship is open to all Chesapeake Public High School students who are members of their local PTSA. Applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA and a minimum of 40 volunteer hours beginning the summer prior to his/her senior year. An award of $1,000 will be given. Chesapeake Hospital Authority DEADLINE: APRIL 17, 2015 to MS. DREWREY Each year the Chesapeake Hospital Authority awards $2,500 scholarships to 10 college-bound high school seniors who are pursuing a career in the Healthcare industry. College Sports Recruiting Scholarship DEADLINE: JULY 1, Any current of former student athlete. You do not need to be a college athlete to apply. Current or future college students *High School seniors who will be attending college are eligible. Daisy S. Kessler Scholarship DEADLINE: APRIL 15, 2015 Must be a graduating senior at a Chesapeake public high school and accepted to an accredited university or college and must demonstrate a financial need. Daniel s Grace DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2015 Open to graduating seniors who have directly impacted by cancer, either personally or by an immediate family member. Dr. Clarence V. Cuffee DEADLINE: MARCH 16, Open to high school seniors who live in the City of Chesapeake and have been accepted to attend Norfolk State University and planning to pursue a degree in any area of public service. Two 1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Doug Picott Memorial Scholarship/ Southeastern Elementary PTA DEADLINE: APRIL 24, 2015 This scholarship is open to students that attended Southeastern Elementary and have at least a 3.0GPA.

4 Friends of Hampton Roads, Inc. DEADLINE: MARCH 16, This scholarship is being offered to African-American seniors who show financial need and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Good Neighbor Pharmacies of Virginia DEADLINE: APRIL 11, 2015 Open to graduating seniors. Essay is required. One $5,000 scholarship and three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Granville P. Meade DEADLINE: MARCH 6, 2015 to MS. DREWREY This scholarship is open to students who achieved academically, but who are financially unable to attend college. Applicants must be planning on attending one of Virginia s public or private colleges or universities. Great Bridge Women s Club TO MS. DREWREY Open to graduating senior females at Grassfield, Great Bridge and Hickory high schools. Green Pest Services Open to graduating seniors with a 3.0GPA. Must be attending an accredited college or university in Virginia in the Fall of Scholarship award is $750. Hampton Roads American Logistics Association Scholarship Program This organization is affiliated with the military and is offering ten $1,500 scholarships to dependents of military families - either active-duty or retired (up to grade Captain/Commander) and dependents of military resale employees (parents work at Military Exchanges or Commissaries). Hampton Roads Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2015 Open to African-American graduating seniors with a 3.5GPA or higher. Essay, three letters of recommendation, as well as acceptance letter from college or university required.

Hickory High School PTSA DEADLINE: APRIL 17, 2015 The objective of this scholarship program is to offer funds that will be made available to deserving students who may or may not fulfill the stringent academic or athletic criteria that many other scholarship programs require. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA and have been accepted to a college/university or vocational program. Hickory Middle School PTA DEADLINE: MARCH 20, 2015 This scholarship is offered to seniors who have attended Hickory Middle School, have at least a 2.5 GPA and have plans for higher education. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded. Hickory Middle School PTA Dr. Woody Koonce DEADLINE: MARCH 20, 2015 This scholarship is offered to seniors who have attended Hickory Middle School, have at least a 2.5 GPA and have plans for higher education. Students must be enrolled in the Teacher Cadet program. A $500 scholarship will be awarded. Hugo Owens Middle School PTSA Scholarship Program DEADLINE: APRIL 22, 2014 Open to high school seniors graduating from a Chesapeake Public School, must be an alumnus of Hugo Owens Middle, must been a PTA/PTSA member during attendance at Hugo Owens, must enter a college or university in August, and must have financial need. Jarrod Camper Smith Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is open to graduating seniors who have lettered in and are active members of a varsity high school soccer team. In addition, applicants must have played select travel soccer and have been accepted to an accredited college or university. There is an award of $2000. Joel Bieber DEADLINE: JUNE 19,

Norfolk Sports Club DEADLINE: APRIL 17, To qualify for this scholarship applicants must have lettered in at least one sport (cheerleaders qualify), have at least a 2.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and plan to attend a college or university in Virginia. DEADLINE: APRIL 17, 2015 This scholarship is open to African-American female seniors who will graduate from one of the public high schools in Suffolk, Portsmouth, or Chesapeake. Applicants must have at least a 2.8GPA and show financial need for higher education. Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association Foundation DEADLINE: MARCH 2, 2015 The awarding of this year s scholarships will be based in part (50%) upon essays written by those students seeking to win a scholarship and in part (50%) by other factors such as need, grades and extracurricular activities. One $2,500 and one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Norfolk State University Alumni Association This scholarship is available to seniors who currently attend a Chesapeake Public School and have a minimum GPA of 2.7. Applicants must be accepted by NSU and intend to enroll for the fall school year.

7 Rich Murray Journalism Scholarship Open to Virginia high school graduating seniors who excels in the area of sports journalism and must be pursuing a college degree in journalism, communication, or a related field with intentions of pursing a career in sports. Second Calvary Baptist Church Scholarship DEADLINE: MARCH 23, Open to male high school seniors. SunTrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes DEADLINE: MAY 9, High school seniors can win a $1,000 scholarship for first year expenses at an accredited college or private career school. One winner will be chosen every two weeks from October 25, 2014 through May 9, It's FREE to enter and eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need. Tidewater Builders Association DEADLINE: MARCH 11, This scholarship is offered to well deserving seniors in the Tidewater area who have a genuine need and want to further their education. Tidewater Community College Outstanding High School Graduate Award DEADLINE: MARCH 6, 2015 DEADLINE EXTENTED TO THIS DATE To be eligible, the student must be a graduating senior from a Chesapeake high school who has at least a 3.0 GPA. Recipients must register full-time at the Chesapeake Campus for the Fall 2015 semester. Applicants should have completed the TCC Admission Application and listed Chesapeake Campus as the home campus. Tidewater Home Funding DEADLINE: APRIL 30, 2015 Open to graduating seniors in the Hampton Roads area with a 3.0GPA or higher. Virginia Aviation Business Association Scholarship DEADLINE: MAY 30, Seniors applying for this scholarship must have a 3.0GPA in their last full year of study, must be planning a career in the field of aviation, and must be accepted into an aviation related program at an accredited college. A $2,000 will be awarded. Virginia Credit Union s Dorothy J. Hall Scholarship Program To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must be a primary member of Virginia Credit Union and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants will be evaluated on four equally weighted categories: scholastic achievement, community service & extracurricular activities, hours

9 devoted to work to help with cost of education, and essay. Twenty-five $2,500 scholarships will be awarded. Virginia Department of Aviation-John R. Lillard Scholarship Program DEADLINE: MARCH 13, Seniors applying for this scholarship must have at least a 3.75 unweighted GPA, must be planning a career in the field of aviation, and must be accepted into an aviation related program at an accredited college. A $3,000 will be awarded. Virginia Department of Aviation-Willard G. DREWREY This scholarship is open to Chesapeake Public School seniors who have at least a 3.0 GPA and have applied to a post-secondary institution with the intent to major in the field of education. Applicants must also show financial need. A $1,500 award is to be given to one senior. 10 NORFOLK FBI DEADLINE: APRIL 6, 2015 Open to high school students between the ages of by the contest deadline (4/6/15). The essay contest is an opportunity for Chesapeake high-school students to express their views on law enforcement collaboration with people of all faiths/ cultures. Students are requested to use the following guidelines for their entries. Essay Subject: Students are asked to write an original and creative essay that demonstrates how the power of working together around shared values can impact neighborhoods. Students should elaborate on ways people of all faiths can collaborate with law enforcement to improve their community. The maximum word count is 800 with a minimum of 500. The essay must include a cover sheet with the essay title, student s full name, student s phone number, student s home address, name of high school, and student s address. Randolph College Book Award JUNIORS ONLY DEADLINE: APRIL 9, 2015 TO MS. DREWREY This book award is given to a high school junior who is academically strong and who is a leader outside the classroom. One junior from HHS will be nominated. All interested juniors will need to submit a resume emphasizing their leadership and community service to Ms. Drewrey by April 9, 2015.
