Eligibility requirements are in the 2016 handbook: READ THE BULLETINS CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS - - IF THERE ARE ANY DIFFERENCES IN THE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND THE BULLETIN DIRECTIONS, CHECK FOR CLARIFICATION. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAILING THEIR OWN APPLICATIONS, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED ON THIS BULLETIN. IN FAIRNESS TO ALL APPLICANTS, APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ESTABLISHED DEADLINES. TIPS: Many local scholarship organizations request the following attachments to their applications. These items should be prepared in advance and be available to attach to your applications: 1. One to three letters of recommendation (May be from a teacher, coach, counselor, employer, or church/community member familiar with you and your community activities) (Ask permission to copy letters and keep them in a file) 2. A Resume Detail your activities, awards, accomplishments, and community service throughout high school. (Make copies and keep them in a file) 3. An Essay (brief, one- page) Include: Outline your goals for the future, your family dynamics, and how your family will be impacted if you do not receive any financial help for college; Write a paragraph about your community service; how it impacted you and those you helped; and your intent or viewpoint concerning your future involvement in community service. Mention your work ethic at home, at school, outside of school. Keep essay on your computer ready to adjust for different scholarship application requirements 4. Transcripts READ CAREFULLY If your scholarship application is to be turned in to the Guidance Office, the transcript will be attached for you. If your application and transcript are to be mailed/submitted by you, complete a transcript request form at least one week before it is due. April 2016 Deadline 1. Minimum 2.5 GPA, Transcript, Resident of Citrus County for at least 1 year, Community Involvement, Submit a portfolio of original art work, and References. Completed applications must be mailed by student and received by April 1, Citrus County Gator Booster must be attending the University of Florida in the academic year. Completed applications are due in Guidance by Friday, April 1, Inverness Cultural Heritage Council s Senior Scholarship - $500 Music Scholarship. Deadline requirements: completed application, recording, letter of recommendation by music teacher, and must be submitted on or before April 1, Ted & Marilyn Summa Memorial Music Scholarship (CCEF) (2) $500 and (4) $250 Scholarship. Minimum 3.0 GPA, Participated in at least 4 years of Band, Orchestra, or Color guard, Transcript, LHS Student, Leadership Activities, Community Involvement, References, and an Essay. Essay contest on the subject of Distracted Driving. If we have more than 100 entries, there will be a second set of all prizes. Visual Arts Scholarship Application requirements: Recommendation(s) from art teacher(s), school transcript, photo, application, and deadline April 8, Nature Coast Chapter Americans United for Separation of Church and State $ word essay. Topic: Why the First Amendment Principle of Separation of Church and State is vital to our Country Today. Student Mail by April 15, Lecanto High School Alumni Association Attending a Florida College or Trade School? Plus, a 2016 Lecanto High Graduate. Well, this scholarship could be for you. Just turn in the application with your Resume, Letters of Recommendation, a brief Essay about yourself, why you should be selected and your educational goals. There are currently several scholarships available for Citrus county students for full coverage of program fees ($850.00).
