1 Scholarships Local Scholarships These scholarships will be awarded to an MRH Student at our awards program in May. Maplewood Kiwanis A minimum of one scholarship is planned on being awarded to at least one senior graduating from Maplewood Richmond Heights High School who enroll in either a two or four year college or university and would not be able to do so without financial assistance. The amount of each of the Kiwanis Scholarships equal One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and will be paid directly to the school(s) during the enrollment process. The Maplewood Kiwanis Club reserves the right to interview applicants in order to gain more information with which to make a decision. The application that is available in the guidance office should be returned to Mrs. Johnson by March 30, 2012 Neighbors Credit Union This scholarship is open to members of the My.Bux teen club (ages 13-19) who plans on attending college or trade school in the fall of You can become a My.Bux member by opening a saving account with only a $1.00. There is no limit on membership length to be eligible. The deadline to apply is March See Mrs. Johnson for an application or visit NeighborsCU.org William Pablo Feraldo Memorial Foundation Scholarship Program The William Pablo Feraldo Memorial Foundation has established a scholarship program for male high school students who plan to pursue postsecondary education at a four-year college or university. To be eligible, you must be a male, planning to enroll full time and demonstrate a minimum financial need of $2,000 as calculated by Scholarship America and be recommended by a school official. The deadline to apply is March 15 th, see Mrs. Johnson for an application. Buddist Tzu Chi Foundation The Tzu Chi foundation is pleased to announce that their scholarship program and that they are now accepting applications. All high school graduating seniors are encouraged to apply. Scholars are selected on the basis of financial need, academic achievement and community involvement. The award is $1000. The deadline to March 16 th and you must have a GPA of at least a 3.0. See Mrs. Johnson for an application. The Concave, a non-profit broadcasting organization is proud to announce its radio and television broadcast scholarship. One of these scholarships will be offered to the Broadcast Center in St. Louis. The scholarship includes the cost of tuition, ranging to the full value from $10,000 to over $34,000. Room and board costs are not included. The award will include job placement assistance upon graduation. 2 SAMMY 2012 The Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Award Program provides high school scholar athletes in grade 12 with the opportunity to earn college scholarships. Apply now to be one of 25 winners of the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Awards. Apply by March 19, Charter Student Scholarship Program Amount: $1,000 Eligibility Requirements: Open to graduating high school seniors who are residents of either Missouri or Illinois and live within Charter's service area. Students must be planning to pursue a degree that relates to Charter i.e.: accounting, business admi nistration, business management, communications, computer technology, engineering, marketing, or a related field at an accredited college or university. You must have at least a 3.0 GPA and to submit two letters of recommendation, your high school transcript, and a 250 word essay. Scott Brownell is fondly remembered by friends and colleagues as a man who offered generous guidance and encouragement through sports and recreation. Upholding Scott s legacy of selflessness and his love of sports through our scholarship program is an essential component of The Scott Brownell Foundation's mission. The application deadline is March 30, Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading. 3 Kids Helping Kids, Ltd. Randi Perkins Scholarship The amount awarded is $1,500. This scholarship is open to females graduating from a high school in the St. Louis Metro Area. She must be a female athlete as recognized by her high school or other sources of recommendations. The application deadline is May 1, To apply for the scholarship the student must submit the completed application, resume, two letters of recommendations, and the complete essay questions. Randi Perkins Scholarship 6511 Runge Forest Drive Barnhart, MO This scholarship is for JUNIORS. Every year since 1994, Nordstrom has awarded college scholarships of $10,000 to hardworking high-school students with dreams of a higher education. Paid out in equal installments of $2500 over four years to the college of their choice, Nordstrom Scholarships give bright, deserving kids the help they need to achieve their goals. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, awards/honors, leadership, school activities, community/volunteer activities, financial and employment history. Qualifications: Be a high school junior, maintain a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) throughout your high school career, have participated in community/volunteer activities, live and attend school in one of the participating states designated by Nordstrom, be planning to apply for financial assistance to attend college, attend an accredited four-year college or university during all years for which the scholarship is awarded. Arthur Kennett, Jr., Educational Fund This scholarship is designed to make educational resources more widely available to promising high school seniors who, without financial assistance, would find if difficult or impossible to obtain higher educational training. Both the ability to succeed in college work and financial need are emphasized in the selection of the recipient. Primary consideration will be given to those whose need is great, academic performance is high, and who have demonstrated qualities of industry, leadership, vocational promise, and good community citizenship. You must rank in the upper fifth of your class, have a B or higher average and have an ACT composite score of 22 or higher. The application is available in the guidance office and the deadline is March 15, MRH can only submit ONE application so don t wait to get your application turned in.

4 Buick Achievers Scholarship Program - Open to high school seniors planning to major in a specified course of study that focus on engineering/technology or select Design and Business related fields of study. (A list of eligible majors is available). The student could also be interested in pursuing a career in the automotive or related industry. Scholarship recipients are selected based on several criteria s; academic achievements, financial need, participation and leadership in community and school activities. See Mrs. Johnson for more information. Missouri Insurance Education Foundation The Missouri Insurance Education Foundation, formed as a non-profit corporation in 1991, is supported by the insurance industry and other interested parties which conduct business in Missouri. One of the goals of the foundation is to award scholarships to deserving Missouri High School students who will be attending Missouri colleges or universities. In connection with these goals, the Board has approved four $1,500 scholarships to be awarded to Missouri graduating high school seniors who will be full-time students in an accredited Missouri college or university and with an interest or intent of pursuing an insurance, risk management, actuarial science or related course of study. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due by March 31, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Reward Plato s Closet if offering a $ scholarship. At Plato s Closet, they practice the ideals of reduce, reuse, recycle everyday and in many ways. Now what have you done to help reduce, reuse or recycle? Tell them how you have made a difference-at home, at school or in the community. Did you start a project? Are you part of a team? Maybe you made a difference individually. Send a one-page summary of what you ve done to help reduce, reuse or recycle and benefit our environment. You may also submit up to 3 photos and one letter of support from a teacher, neighbor, etc. The application deadline is March 31, 2012 and the application should be submitted to platosscholarship@sbcglobal.net National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) The purpose of the NDTA Scott/St. Louis Chapter scholarship program is to promote careers in Business, Transportation Logistics, and Physical Distribution. Although all students may apply, preference will be given to students pursing these and related courses of study. You will need to provide two letters of recommendation and an 800-word essay on how your chosen field of study/future career will contribute to the field of transportation and logistics. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due by March 1, Edward G. Halliburton Scholarship Students who have been (or parent/guardian) an Electro member for at least one year prior to the Edward G. Halliburton Scholarship entry deadline may apply for the Edward G. Halliburton Scholarship. The scholarship entry date is February 28 th. You must be planning to attend a four-year college/university. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. 5 U.S. Bank Scholarship Program U.S. Bank is committed to supporting higher education by providing students every opportunity to realize their potential. U.S. Bank is launching their 16 th annual U.S. Bank Scholarship Program. Forty lucky high school seniors will win a $1,000 scholarship. High school seniors who will be attending a U.S. Bank Student Loan eligible four-year college are encouraged to apply. Winners will be selected at random. The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is a member of 1 st Financial Federal Credit Union. US Bank Internet Scholarship Program a random drawing in which 30 seniors who enter the drawing will be chosen to receive $1,000. The scholarship drawing application can be found at The deadline to apply is March 31, KFC Colonel s Scholars seniors with demonstrated financial need and an entrepreneurial spirit with a 2.75 GPA and enrolled in a bachelor s degree program can apply for an award up to $20,000. Apply on-line at Missouri Teacher Education Scholarship seniors who rank in the top 15% of the class or score a 27 or higher on the ACT who are going to major in education should apply for the $2,000 award by visiting
