2 Section 2: Course Schedule 2 & Program Overview Professional Orientation The program is a ten (10) course program. Courses are offered in three (3) sessions each year. Students must successfully undertake and complete ten (10) courses to satisfy the requirements of the degree. Ce courses-phase 1 Students must study the ce courses listed below. Students on entry into the program are enrolled in the ce course - International Educational Leadership - and then they may ganize their pattern of study based on course offerings. 5 Section 1: Program Abstract Charles Sturt University (CSU) offers the Master of International Education (School Leadership) [MIEd (SchlLship)] to educats from Ontario and globally seeking a graduate degree in school leadership with a clear focus on international education. The MIEd (SchlLship) program aims to strengthen capacities of educats to anticipate issues, analyze best practices from a variety of international perspectives and implement strategies which are principled, prudent and practical within their professional setting. The degree is a distinctive postgraduate qualification that meets the professional needs of contempary educational leaders around the wld. The MIEd (SchlLship) provides an internationally recognized postgraduate qualification, addresses the requirements of contempary educational leaders and develops their capacity to improve learning outcomes in their schools and learning ganizations by applying a critical examination of global perspectives to educational practices at the local level. The program addresses the professional needs of aspiring and current educational leaders, particularly at the school and system levels through academic study and an application of this in the field. The program aims to produce critically reflective and innovative educational leaders. Each course in the program adopts multiple and critical perspectives and draws upon current and relevant international research. The program is designed to build on, and further enhance, the knowledge, skills and qualities that these education leaders bring as a result of their previous studies and experience. The curriculum emphasizes the role of practitioner as researcher and consequently, students develop their capacity to evaluate research and design, develop and implement research based projects as part of their program. All graduates will be qualified to serve as school principals, and, in Ontario, there will be enhanced career prospects and professional standing including the opptunity to apply f Superintendent Qualifications. Graduates of the program who have undertaken the required research method courses and project will be eligible to apply f entry to CSU s doctal programs a similar degree in Canada and Australia.
