2 Greetings, Welcome to the Technology-Enabled Learning and Leading Institute for principals and viceprincipals. There are over 350 participants at this event and we are excited that you will be joining us! This initiative is a joint partnership between the Association des directions et direction adjointes des ecoles franco-ontariennes (ADFO) the Catholic Principals Council Ontario (CPCO) and the Ontario Principals Council (OPC). We also wish to extend our sincere thanks to the Ontario Ministry of Education for their continued support throughout this project. This two-day institute is designed for learning, sharing and collaborating. We are pleased to provide you with a comprehensive selection of learning sessions on specific topics from which to choose. Our keynote sessions will feature Simon Breakspear delivering a live virtual session entitled Designing Deeper Learning in the Digital Age and Alec Couros delivering a live session entitled Taking on the Challenges of 21st Century Teaching and Learning. Blogging as Portfolio by Alec Couros will be offered three times during the institute to ensure that every participant can experience this learning session. Resources to support the work of K-12 Classroom Educators in Ontario (OERB, vle, OSAPAC, Edugains/Edusource) Administrators need to know what s out there to support educators and to lead technology-enabled learning and teaching. This session will provide information on the Ministry sponsored digital resources that can be integrated into the work of K-12 classroom educators in Ontario. Michael Raso & Paul Gautreau How to Evolve a Technology Enhanced Learning Environment through 21st Century Fluencies Using 21st Century Fluencies, derived from Lee Crockets book Literacy is not Enough, 21st Century Fluencies, as the practical base from which to work, this session will outline how to set school and department goals, build staff competencies, ensure greater staff accountability and bring your parent community to a better understanding of what 21st Century learning should look like, firmly rooting technology in the role of supporting learning. As digital leaders we need to set high techspectations for ourselves, staff and students. One of the most efficient ways to do this is to model the efficient and purposeful use of technology in our daily practices. When using Web 2.0 tools to control, organize and manage our workflow, we become more efficient and focused digital leaders. Jennifer Paziuk Sustainagility in Professional Learning This session is an opportunity to collaborate with your provincial colleagues in developing sustainable and agile professional learning models. The focus will be on the alignment of professional learning opportunities from the Board Improvement Plan, centrally developed learning opportunities and the collaborative inquiries imbedded in School Improvement Plans. Gianna Helling Knowledge Building: How to engage students and teachers in transforming wonder into knowledge through inquiry based learning In this session participants will focus on how to engage students and teachers in transforming wonder into knowledge through inquiry based learning. In addition, a focus on a model for building capacity at the school and board levels will be discussed. Karen Dobbie & Francis Noventa Implementing a 1:1 Chromebook Project In this learning session participants will hear the story of a secondary school that has started to implement a 1:1 Chromebook pilot project.
