1 3rd Belgian-Dutch Joint Meeting of Neurosurgery Spa-Balmoral, Belgium, October 12-13, 2012 Dear Colleagues neurosurgeons from the Benelux, The NVvN and BSN boards are pleased to invite you to the 3rd Bel-NL Joint Meeting of Neurosurgery, which will take place at the Hotel Balmoral in Spa, Belgium on October 12-13, We hope that the formula will be as pleasant and exciting as it was in the first two joint meetings in Ostend and Maastricht in the past. We have focused the discussion on two topics that might be attractive for each of us in our daily practice: 1.The issue of performing fusion or not at surgery of the degenerative lumbar spine; 2.The different strategies allowing to optimize the surgical resection of brain gliomas. We hope that these topics and the pro/cons discussions will interest the young trainees as well as the senior colleagues, whether they work in private or academic practice. We invite everyone to submit short reports or communications of their experience or special cases in relation with the two topics.
