2 Dear Colleagues, Our traditional scientific meeting organized on a yearly basis - has its own charactheristics that make it a true jubilee this year as well. It was back in September 1992 that we organized in Kaposvár the first congress of our society that attracted international attendance. This scientific meeting started the regular series of plastic surgery meetings and the team of the Seffer-Renner Private Clinic was truly happy starting organizing this year s meeting while commemorating this very first event. Also, our private clinic was inaugurated at the time of our first congress, this makes us celebrating a double 15-years jubilee. Last but not least, the president of our coming meeting has started his career as a plastic surgeon 20 years ago. The city of Kaposvár always offered good opportunities and had serious tradition of scientific work. The university, the city hospital and the private physicians originating from these institutes have always been renown for their high standard in scientific activities. Our team is very proud of having had a major role in organizing the International Breast Congress in 1994 in Budapest and in the Aurél Réthy scientific day in 1999 that raised huge interest among our colleagues. Plastic surgery underwent an intense technological development in the last 15 years. The speed of this evolution seems even to be accelarating over the last few years. Plastic surgeons have been confronted to a large number of technical innovation, new surgery proceedings, introducing and implementing of computer and laser techniques, micro-surgery, endoscopic surgery, new tools and a mass of new material. These innovations drive us and make us possible to achieve results we would not have hoped to achieve a few years ago. In the meantime, new medical disciplines have been established, like anti-aging medicine. Beside new surgical possibilities, new technologies have been developed, like the different types of injection techniques, bio-lifting and a range of mesotherapeutic proceedings. Plastic surgeons are one of the pioneers worldwide in inventing new technologies. The medicine of the future is also in our hands: stem-cell therapy that Hungarian experts will most probably use among the first ones worldwide. Despite of all its merit, the city of Kaposvár does not have a decent conferencehotel capacity to host this event in our town. This was the reason for choosing the Hotel Azúr in Siófok.
