1 Relax Kids 2 day training course The course aims to show parents, teachers, tutors, parents, therapists and anyone who works with children how to learn the essentials needed to teach relaxation to children. Delegates are shown a variety of relaxation methods as well as the steps needed to set up classes. There will be opportunity to discuss issues regarding the programme, to share ideas. The investment for the training is 550 (plus VAT) Who is it for? This 2 day course is ideal for all teachers:- Form Tutors, Learning Mentors, those in charge of Extended School services and programmes, Children's Centre managers, Nursery Managers, Therapists, Parents, Family coaches and Yoga and Dance teachers. When is the course? Feb. 11 th & 12 th 2012 Course Overview This is fun and dynamic 2 - day training is run at The Joyful Buddhas in Victor Harbor, South Australia. It is run by a Julie who has been trained by Marneta Viegas - founder of Relax Kids. Julie who will show delegates how to use a range of relaxation exercises and how to run the Relax Kids programme so that it can be successfully delivered in schools and private classes. Delegates will be shown the essentials of relaxation such as breathing techniques, peer massage, stretches, and visualisations and how they can be used to aid help children relax, improve sleep, increase learning, boost exam results, decrease stress and anxiety and improve children's self-esteem. 8 FAQS What are the benefits of being a Relax Kids Coach? Relax Kids is a well recognised and established brand in the UK. We have now trained up Coaches in over 20 countries. You can work flexible hours. You get a double income stream from products and classes. You can obtain marketing and promotional material. You can advertise your classes on the Relax Kids website. You will receive ongoing support by , forum, online resources, meet ups and a network of RK coaches. You can offer classes to schools, private homes, health centres, children's centres as well as set up private classes. You can run parents courses, chill and chat parties, magical birthday parties as well as the new Chill Skills course in school Do you offer the Course outside the UK? We do have a course in Australia. If you live abroad and are prepared to travel to the UK, you are welcome to come and take the course and run your Relax Kids classes abroad. You would be able to be a Relax Kids licensed teacher for children. Please Note: Marneta does not teach this course personally. Do you offer a Distance Learning Course or a Video of the Course? At the moment, we do not offer Distance learning courses or videos. This is however something we may be looking into in the future. Who is suitable for this course. This 2 day course is ideal for all teachers Form Tutors, Learning Mentors, those in charge of Extended School services and programmes, Children's Centre managers, Nursery Managers, Therapists, Parents, Family coaches and Yoga and Dance teachers. I am not a school teacher, is the course suitable for me? You do not need to be a primary school teacher to take the Relax Kids course. The main thing is that you enjoy working with children and have enthusiasm, creativity and energy. Do I need yoga experience before I take the course? No, this is not a yoga course and you do not need yoga experience, although if you have it, that is a bonus! I don't really want to teach, but would like to use the ideas at home with my children, can I come on the course?

9 You are welcome to come on the course and use the exercises at home with your children and their friends. At a later stage once you have built up your confidence, you may like to start some classes. How can I get funding for the course? You may be able to get funding through your school or local business or enterprise schemes/ local authority. Can I advertise my Relax Kids classes on the Relax Kids website? Once you are certified, you will be listed on the Relax Kids website. How do I get a Relax Kids Certificate? After the course, you will need to get a CRB Police check and public liability insurance. You will then set up 4 trial classes which you have to document with lesson plans, case studies and evaluation sheets. When you have done this, you send your documents and to our head office and you will then receive a certificate. Do I have to sell Relax Kids products if I decide to be a coach? No, you do not have to sell Relax Kids products, but you may like to take advantage of having a double income stream. There is no pressure to sell products. Our aim is to help and support children in whatever way we can, not just promote the sale of our products (no matter how good they are!) Am I bound by any contract? To receive your certificate, you will sign a licence agreement form. This entitles you to run your classes using the Relax Kids logo and trademark. If you want to cease trading, you simply have to notify us in writing. Is this a franchise? No, this is a licence agreement, where we licence the training materials to you as long as you. A franchise is usually around 15,000 and there is usually around 5,000 fee per year. This does entitle a franchisee to 'own' that postcode and so no one else is able to trade under the same name in that postcode. We feel that this is too much money and so have set up a model where we do not give a postcode to each person. Our aim is that coaches support one another rather than be in competition. What happens if there is another coach near me?

10 We like to encourage people to support each other rather than compete. We believe strongly that whatever you put in, so you will get back. Supporting other coaches and feeling supported is all part of the Relax Kids ethics as often people can share workload if there is too much or they are not well. It also raises the brand profile if people see that there are more classes in their area. How much is the yearly licence fee? The yearly licence fee is 200 plus VAT. (Gold fee is 300 plus VAT) Why do I have to pay the licence fee? The licence fee is to allow you to run Relax Kids classes using the logo, brand and materials. You also receive online support including s, online resources, forum where you can talk to other teachers, meet ups etc I do not have a Police Check, can I still come on the course? You can get your Police Check after the course, but if you want to start your classes straight away, you may like to apply early as some police checks can take up to 4-6 weeks. How long is the Course? The course is 2 full and intensive days. What are the timings of the Course? The courses start at 9am and finish around 5pm on both days. Do I have to run a certain amount of classes each month? No, you are free to work as much or as little as you wish. How much money will I make running Relax Kids classes? This can vary depending on your area. Most Relax Kids teachers charge between 4 and 8 per child per class. If you have around 10 children in your class, you will make around You will have to take out the cost of the hall. However, you might find as you are setting up, you have less children in your classes and so you might expect less than this. What resources do you provide as part of the course? You will receive a comprehensive training manual and operations manual. You will also receive a set of Relax Kids resources (books CDs etc) worth 160. You also receive a huge amount of online resources.

11 What other expenses will there be? There will also be an yearly license fee ( 200 plus VAT) This enables you to be a Certified Relax Kids teacher and use the Relax Kids name and logo, advertise your classes on the website and sell Relax Kids products. Please note that your first year is free (from the date that your start the course - so giving you a year to set up your classes if you need it). You will also need Public Liability Insurance - This is approx 80 a year. You will need a Police Check which is approx 55. This is renewable every 1-3 years ( it seems to vary from county to county). (Please note that you will only receive a certificate once you have sent in a copy of your Police Check and Public Liability). To run your classes, you will need a CD player/ipod with speakers, a relaxation music CD, a Relax Kids T shirt (around 15), a parachute if you want to incorporate parachute games. You may also want to buy leaflets from Relax Kids (approx 5 per 100) to set up your classes. Some coaches also purchase inexpensive blankets and cushions and other small items (a puppet, magic wand ect) to help make their classes a little bit more special. What support will I get after the course? You will get s with tips and offers, the chance to meet up with other coaches on special meet up days and conference a business buddy to share problems and ideas, online resources and teacher s forum Is there a written examination? After the course, you will set up 4 practice sessions and you will write these up and send them to Relax kids Is there a practical examination? On day 2, each participant plans and executes a short sample session. How much is the course? The course is 550 plus VAT for a regular package and 750 plus VAT for the Gold package which includes your own website and address. Do I need to send references? Yes, you will need two written professional references. These can be sent before or on the day of the training.

12 How many people are there on the course? The courses are usually small and between 7 and 15 people What is a day like? We start the first day at 9am with introductions, a practical session and we systematically go through all the exercises in the 7 point system. We break for coffee at around 11am and lunch around 1pm. The course is well paced and fun with a nice balance between learning and rejuvenation, although the second day is more intense as there is so much information to take in! When is the last date to register for the training course? The training enrolment is on a first come, first-served basis. Early booking is recommended. How do I book and secure my place?
