We are proud to present to you the first edition of our Building Relations Newsletter for The first thing you ll probably notice about this edition is that you re holding it in your hand rather than reading it on your computer. We recently made the decision to embrace technology and transform our long-running print newsletter into an electronic version. However, the overwhelming response that we heard from our customers was that they preferred to read the newsletter in print rather than online. You spoke and we listened. With this edition, we have chosen to return to the print version that you have come to know and love. The second thing that we hope you notice is the amount of positive stories contained in the subsequent pages. It s no secret that the last several years have been trying, especially here in the Central Valley. With the economic climate, stories of success, especially in the business world, have become harder and harder to find. However, the pages that follow tell a different story. Along with general updates about the company, you ll find information about current projects and stories about successful projects completed in the recent past. In other words, you ll read about a company simply doing business as usual. 3 Rebuilding Hope For Parent Resource Center T he Parent Resource Center in Modesto offers hope and support to young mothers, new families, and any parent feeling the overwhelming pressures that parenting can sometimes bring. This non-profit group features programs that are designed to develop parenting skills, as well as reducing the chance of child abuse. On April 23, 2009 their hope was almost extinguished when their building went up in flames. Their administration offices were severely damaged by arson causing over $250,000 in damages. Huff Construction was honored to be a part of rebuilding the Parent Resource Center. On January 13, 2011, their hope was re-lit at the grand opening of their new building with the help of Huff Construction. Parent Resource Center 811 Fifth Street, Modesto, CA 5

4 H U F F R E S T O R A T I O N O n the morning of January 26, 2011, an owner of a local UPS store was shocked when a car came crashing through the front window of her Oakdale store. A customer at the front counter was thankful that the car stopped just before it reached him. Thankfully, nobody was hurt, but the damage was substantial. Huff Restoration received a phone call at 10:30am from the building owner. Immediately our team of restoration specialists were dispatched and on their way. The restoration team removed all glass and debris, re-enforced the damaged ceiling structures and secured the glass entry by 3:30pm.
