3 Core Strategy GOAL STATEMENT: Sport Development To provide student-athletes with pathways to high level intercollegiate competition. Provide opportunities for student-athletes to attend a National Championship 1. Organize 21 National Championship titles in 7 sports. August /VP Program Level 1 (3 sports): m & w basketball, m & w volleyball and m & w soccer (6 titles). Open (3 sports) m & w golf individual and team, m & w cross country running individual and team, badminton (WS, MS, MD, WD, MD) (13 titles). Invitational (1 sport) m & w curling (2 titles). Consult previous hosts and receive final hosting report. Incorporate AGM motions and exceptional practises into the hosting manual. Circulate manual to hosts Communicate and monitor critical path for hosts to follow. Develop final evaluation report via Host, Convenor, Official, Coach and Athlete evaluation. /January 3month out and 1 month out calls. January/ Align league and Conference Championships with National Championships Review and confirm dates for National Championships. Provide sound competitive formats and qualification processes Provide travel equalization/travel subsidy program to allow access to championships Identify maximum ideal participation rates in annual National Championships. Grow the number of annual National Championships sports. Confirm conference team allocation and determine wildcard allocation for each National Championship. Review and approve Badminton/Curling/Golf and Soccer format & qualification process Confirm conference flying and driving requests to Level 1 nationals. Confirm predicated travel equalization chart with quoted flights to determine travel equalization figure for Book travel for Level 1 Championships. Book travel for CCAA all Canadians as part of travel equalization program. Update travel with actual travel costs and rebate or invoice teams accordingly. Examine portion of Sport Canada funding being allotted to Open travel subsidies. Indentify conference team representatives for open Championships and provide subsidies to respective participant. Clarify numbers for championship fill process for Cross Country running Clarify Golf championship numbers and fill process. Examine Curling and Badminton participation rates.
