3 Accessories: Description Type Windows configuration software. m USB cable OR-C CAB-02 For the following pages please also note the instructions in data sheet no (OR-C configuration software)! Configuration parameters and programming Parameters can be adjusted using the sensor configuration software. The PC with the previously installed OR-C software is connected to the programming head of the sensor with a USB cable, as shown in the figure on the right. The correct procedure for connecting the sensor via USB is as follows: Disconnect the USB connector from the PC Disconnect the sensor from the power supply Insert the 4-way connection into the sensor observe sequence of the cable coloring: Contact no. Color Red 2 White 3 reen 4 Black Connect the USB connector with the PC Reconnect the sensor to the power supply PRO Programming interface Red White reen Black USB PRORAMMIN- CABLE CAB-02 Important instructions: Always disconnect the USB connector from the PC before inserting the cable into the sensor. It is essential that you comply with the correct sequence of the cable coloring. Non-compliance with these instructions may damage the transmitter! Display (Option D required) The LCD display displays the currently measured temperature. If the transmitter is equipped with the setpoint value potentiometer P, the display switches to the setpoint when the control button is rotated. After five seconds, the display automatically returns to the current actual value. The display has white backlighting (default: switched off). The backlighting can be permanently switched on and has adjustable brightness. DISPLAY MODE TEMPERATURE- DISPLAY SETPOINT- DISPLAY Note: The backlighting is permanently on when activated. At an intensity of 50%, the service life is approximately 0,000 hours. Thereafter, the LCD module needs to be replaced if the backlighting is needed. However, the display also works without backlighting. The current target value is displayed when the button is rotated (unit shows influencing parameter). Alarm display with Option D The sensor can be configured so that the temperature is monitored and the LCD display changes the backlighting color as soon as a previously programmed threshold value is exceeded. If the sensor reading exceeds the yellow alarm threshold, the yellow backlighting turns on. If the sensor reading exceeds the red alarm threshold, the backlighting switches to red. Under normal conditions, the backlighting is off (white backlighting can be activated but note the service life of 0,000 hours at 00% brightness). The alarm mode has an adjustable hysteresis to avoid flickering. All alarm thresholds are adjustable. Room temperature sensor, active Data sheet No Version

5 Programming the Modbus address and the baud rate The Modbus address and the baud rate of the T-MOD-R is generally programmed with bit switches. It is also possible to specify the address and baud rate with the OR-C configuration software together with the CAB-02 data cable. Note: The new settings only become active after a software reset or power down/up cycle. Each switch represents a binary value, and the address results from the combination of the individual switches. The Modbus registers for the function codes 02, 03, 06 and represent Modbus address blocks as well as actual Modbus register offsets. For example, the Modbus read register fetches the temperature with function code 04. Some Modbus masters require that function code 04 and register are entered, whereas others query the register with and function code 04. The Modbus addressing begins with 0 (base address).
