1 DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING SAGE 50 ACCOUNTING 2014 Go to to watch a video on how to perform this install. Last Updated: July 30, Prerequisites: 1. Make sure you have Microsoft Office 2013 installed before beginning. 2 If you have any older versions of Sage Simply/50 Accounting installed, please uninstall them. Click your start menu. (If you are sure you have never installed Simply Accounting / Sage 50 before, skip to step 9)

2 3 If you don t have a Start Menu, press the Windows key on your keyboard. 4 Start typing the word uninstall. Search results will appear below. Click Uninstall a Program 5 The Programs and Features window will install. Type Sage in the search field at the top right. Page 2

3 6 If you had it Sage Simply/50 Accounting previously installed, it will appear here. 7 Click on the entry so it turns blue, then click Uninstall. Follow all prompts to remove the software. 8 Open your web browser Page 3

4 9 In the address bar t the top, type na.sage.com/ca/aboutus/education and press Enter. (If you are sure you have never installed Simply Accounting / Sage 50 before, skip to step 15) 10 On the resulting web page, look under Sage 50 Accounting (Ignore the 2013 and 2012 sections) 11 Click on Step 3. Install. Then click on the Student Version Utility link. Page 4

5 12 Click Open 13 A new window will appear. Double-click the file StudentVerCleanup 14 You should see this screen. Click OK to close it. Page 5

6 15 Return to the webpage and click on Step 2. Download 16 Click the Download button. 17 Click Open on the information bar/window that appears. Page 6

7 18 The Sage Download Manager will load. Click Run 19 Choose a folder to save the download. Your Downloads or Desktop folder are the best places. 20 The download will proceed. Page 7

8 21 Once the download is complete, the installer will run. Click Next 22 Click Install Sage You may be presented with this screen. If so, click Download and Install this Feature Page 8

9 24 Downloading the files will proceed. 25 When it s done, click Close 26 In order to proceed with the install, we need to register an account so you can receive a Serial Number. Return to the webpage and click the Register button. Page 9

10 27 Choose Version 2014 Important: Do not choose any other version. 28 Fill out the rest of the form. Be sure to enter the correct address because Sage will you your Activation Numbers. 29 Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Page 10

11 30 Now open your inbox. You will be using something like Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail. I ve used a different service here. Look for a message from: sageeducation@sage.com 31 In the message, you ll see A Serial Number and Key Code. You ll need the serial number in the upcoming steps and you ll need the Activation Code a little later on. Be sure to save this message! 32 Go back to the Sage 50 install window. Click Install Sage 50 again. Page 11

12 33 Click Yes if the installer wants to configure your firewall. 34 Choose Typical 35 Choose I have a serial number and enter the serial number from your message. Page 12

13 36 Click the I agree checkbox and click Install. 37 The software will install. 38 If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Restart Now Page 13

14 39 Your computer will restart. 40 Double-Click the icon called Sage 50 Premium 41 You will be prompted to Activate your software. Click Activate Now Page 14

15 42 You will need to fill out this form. Open your provider (Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, etc ) and find the message from sageeducation@sage.com 43 Using the information in that message, enter the Company Name (which is your Student Name), your serial number, and your Key Code. Click OK. 44 If you ve entered the numbers correctly, you should see this screen. You are now ready to run Sage 50 Accounting 2014! Page 15
