1 13615 Harris Road Pitt Meadows, BC Clubhouse: (604) A Message from the President: We are three quarters into our 2015/16 fiscal year, and Members should know that we are ahead of our financial goals on all fronts. Income streams are positive and expenses are under control. Membership numbers are on target for the first time in many years. House and Bar is ahead of targeted income, and Green fee income is well ahead of budget. This is a result of some very aggressive marketing of our Club and facilities, and a noticeable change in blending of Member services and marketing to the Public. Your Board has recognized that an unused or empty tee time is a potential loss of income, and management has been asked to fill those spaces accordingly. We may have overreached a wee bit in the month of June with three Saturday shotgun events, and we ask that the Members understand the fine line between enough and too much. The Board had planned for one major outside tournament per month, which would result in morning shotgun starts for the members. However, when the marketing programs are wildly successful, and we are faced with a choice, the potential for an additional $12, income per event, is very persuasive. We do need more than our current Member dues income to manage our Golf Club to meet Member expectations, and while Membership numbers are growing, we are still short of where we must be to manage without some Public play. To that end, Members will notice that we have instituted a Marshalling program: Players assistants will be on hand on busy afternoons, to help guests, visitors, and Members keep up with an acceptable pace of play. To further increase green fee revenue, we have also made some significant Tee Sheet process changes: Effective next week, the weekend draw will now be done on Tuesday, so we can better accommodate Green fee Players later in the week. We will also allow a limited number of premium priced Guest times on weekends, between the Full Play and Regular Play and again between Regular and Afternoon Play, if space is available. These guests and visitors to our Club are important and we expect that all PMGC Club Members will welcome them. They may soon become your fellow Members, and can then enjoy our Club as much and as often as we do. Gary Ogilvie Club President

4 Wild Play Cross Promo: Wild Play is an outdoor adventure park located in Maple Ridge. We have been working with them to drive more business to PMGC and to create value for our members. Upcoming Events: Register before July 8 for entry into win the early bird draw prize! As part of this cross promotion we have 20 vouchers available for members wishing to try their adventure park, free of charge! These vouchers are available for pick up in the administration office and are limited to two per member on a first come, first serve basis. Welcome New Members: Please join us in welcoming new members who have joined us in June: Joey Speidoza Ollie Nietzel Tyler Booth Mike Tsirogiannis Golden Ears Bursary: Junior members of the and employees of a junior age (18 years and under), who have been accepted in a post secondary education program, are encouraged to apply. 5 Monthly History: It took 45 years for Larry and Jim Larry Carter joined in March Jim Brose Joined in April that same year. They decided to team up to try to qualify for the Men s team match competition, THE CAPTAINS SHIELD. That first year, they qualified easily. They played a match soon after and lost in the first round. For those who don t play in this competition we should explain that the winners advance to play other winners. For the losers it is wait until next year. Well they did wait. Next year they also qualified and lost in the first round. This happened again and again and again. They qualified and lost in the first round for 44 years in a row from, 1972 until In May of 2016 they won their match in the first round. A great story about hanging in, Pull Cart Storage Revamp: The club is currently restructuring the pull cart storage room to create more room for those on the waitlist. Members will be contacted by Shelley in the office with more information once we are aware if any relocations or changes should need to made to your current location Mixed Challenge Social Event: What a fabulous day and wonderful turn-out for our first Club Social Event!
