4 - (2) TRANSPORT: Transport will be available between O R Tambo International Airport and the venue on a fixed schedule. Please also forward your flight details together with your accommodation booking to: sajccc2017.accommodation@chessa.co.za ACCOMMODATION & LEVIES: (a) ACCOMMODATION: All accommodation must be booked through Marcelle Agulhas on: sajccc2017.accommodation@chessa.co.za Kopanong Hotel has 138 twin rooms & 10 triple rooms available. All accommodation will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. The cost of the rooms are as follows: Cost of twin room - R per person sharing per night. Cost of triple room - R per person sharing per night. Accommodation rates include full board (breakfast, lunch and su pper) for the duration of stay. The meals commence with dinner on 05/04/2017 (as check-in is at 14h00) and finishes with breakfast on 12/04/2017. However, the Gauteng based players will be charged a once-off levy of R400.00, should they not use the accredited accommodation MEDICAL SERVICES: There will be first aid facilities on site and hospitals are in close proximity TOURNAMENT RATING: The results of this competition will be submitted for rating to the CHESS SA Rating Bureau. It is proposed that certain sections will be FIDE rated, however the sections will be finalized by 15/03/2017. The latest FIDE rules will apply. The tournament rules and other relevant information will be published at the venue on 05/04/2017. According to the SASCOC policy, only players who are South African citizens will qualify for SA colours and can represent South Africa at continental and international events therefore the Youth Policy adopted by the General Council will be accepted.

6 - (4)- Qualification Sections per Age & Gender Groups 2.1 AGE & GENDER GROUPS: U08 Open U08 Girls U10 Open U10 Girls U12 Open U12 Girls U14 Open U14 Girls U16 Open U16 Girls U18 Open U18 Girls U20 Open U20 Girls The winners of each age and gender category will receive a trophy and the top three (3) finishers will receive medals. Each of the category winners will be awarded the title of South African Junior Closed Champion Tournament Format The format of the tournament will be a Swiss, played over 11 rounds. There will be no combined sections as per the Youth Policy. The Tournament Rules will be published on the Chess SA website and will be sent out to the Regions/Provinces by 15 March With reference to the ruling taken at the National Youth Commission meeting held on 16 December 2016 in Gauteng, the Youth Commission can invite a player/s that is/are next on the Wild Card qualification list to participate at the SAJCCC 2017 in any age and gender section where there are an odd number of players. This is to ensure that all sections have an even number of players in order to avoid BYEs. Refer to the Youth Selection Policy 2017 for all selection of players for the various continental & International events.
