2 SOUTHBROOK WINERY CLIENT: Southbrook Farms Limited CONSULTANT: Diamond & Schmitt Architects Incorporated TYPE OF PROJECT: Construction Management LOCATION: Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario VALUE: $ 7 million A two-phase project to construct 14,000 sf of new space for Southbrook Winery. The first phase consisted of a 6,000 sf production facility, which included renovations and expansions to an existing barn. The second phase consisted of the construction of a new 8,000 sf tasting complex, retail and hospitality area to showcase the wines that will be produced on site. This project consists of extensive landscape construction. This is a LEED Gold Certification project. LEED Canada Gold

3 BALL S FALLS VISTOR CENTRE CLIENT: Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority CONSULTANT: Macdonald Zuberec Ensslen Architects Inc. LOCATION: Jordan, Ontario VALUE: $ 3.5 million A new 12,000 sf Visitor Centre which house galleries and interactive exhibits which showcase the natural and cultural beauty and history of the Niagara Escarpment. Environmental exhibits highlight the human impact on nature, as well as conservation programs of the NPCA. The Centres events programming will both inspire and enable visitors to become stewards fro natural and cultural resources. The Visitor Centre is designed to follow the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green build rating system and achieved a LEED Gold certification. LEED is an assessment tool to evaluate and promote sustainable design and practices that limit the negative impact of buildings on the environment and occupants. It is the second building in Niagara to achieve the LEED certification. LEED Canada Gold

4 NIAGARA WEST YMCA CLIENT: YMCA of Niagara CONSULTANT: Garwood-Jones & Hanham Architects Inc. TYPE OF PROJECT: Construction Management New YMCA Facility; 54,000 sf two storey facility consists of partial excavated basement including a swimming pool, wading pool, gymnasium, health enhancement and fitness areas, running track, locker rooms and administrative spaces. LOCATION: Grimsby, Ontario VALUE: $ 15,548,000 LEED Canada Silver Certification

5 BROCK UNIVERSITY PLAZA 2006 CLIENT: Brock University CONSULTANT: MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects Limited / Rounthwaite Dick and Hadley Architects Inc. LOCATION: St. Catharines, Ontario VALUE: $ 18 million LEED Canada Silver The Plaza 2006 project is a 86,000 sq. ft. 5-storey building clad in copper, limestone and glass to create an exciting new entrance to the east end of campus. The ground floor contains a significantly expanded Campus Store, public washrooms and a direct link to the Student Centre. The second and third floors contains academic offices, computer labs, classrooms, seminar rooms and washrooms. The upper two floors contain research facilities for the Lifespan Development Research Centre. The project is an example of environmentally responsible architecture and has been designed in accordance with the LEED Canada-NC 1.0 Rating System, which recognizes leading edge buildings that incorporate design, construction, and operational practices that combine healthy, high-quality and high-performance advantages with reduced environmental impacts. This project achieved LEED Silver Certification. Achieving LEED Silver certification the building incorporates an innovative and energy efficient approach to heating and cooling the building by utilizing the cores of the concrete floor slabs for radiant heating and cooling.

6 BROCK UNIVERSITY NEW ACADEMIC FOR ESL/INTERNATIONAL GROUPS NORMAN ROAD BUILDING CLIENT: Brock University CONSULTANT: Robbie Young + Wright / IBI Group Architects LOCATION: St. Catharines, Ontario This project is a 47,000 sf, 3 Storey Building with a Mechanical Penthouse. This new Academic building for ESL / International Groups, Classics and Humanities for Brock University achieving LEED Silver certification consists of classrooms, offices, international student lounge complete with a food service Noodle Bar and Archaeological wing. VALUE: $ 10,500,000 LEED Canada Silver Certification

7 CANADA POST CORPORATION LETTER CARRIER DEPOT, MISSISSAUGA CLIENT: Canada Post Corporation c/o CB Richard Ellis CONSULTANT: Kingsland + Architects LOCATION: Mississauga, Ontario VALUE: $ 3,465,000 18,000 sf office/warehouse used for sorting and distributing mail. The LEED certified building takes into account many energy efficiencies such as a white roof, waterless urinals, insulated precast exterior, programmable and dimmable light ballasts and a measurement and verification system to track expended energies. The dramatic curtain wall that cuts across the plane of the building serves as a unique architectural feature as well as an environmental one. The Okalux insulating glass acts as a prism to disburse more light into the office spaces creating a more naturally lit workable space. This glazing product was also used in a series of skylights to provide the same atmosphere in the warehouse area. LEED Canada Certified
