2 () Central Riverfront Park: The Central Riverfront Park includes the area east of the Howard Street corridor to the end of Havermale Island. The main facilities within this quadrant are the Pavilion, IMAX Theatre, clock tower and Lilac Bowl. The river borders the north and south sides of this quadrant. Primary programming zones incorporated are entertainment and open space /event zones. The goals for the Central Riverfront Park area integrate past master plans, case studies, stakeholder and public input and staff recommendations. These goals include the following: The Pavilion may be restored and repurposed. Other destination features and attractions may be developed that will draw all types of demographics all year long. Ice skating rink - D'Youville Square, Quebec City (nationalgeographic.com) Pedestrian boardwalk - (Wikipedia.org) Enhanced connectivity and accessibility for pedestrians diverse range of entertainment & recreational activities that will continue to attract people to the heart of Riverfront Park. Lilac Bowl, Former Amphitheater (East Havermale multi-use area) The former amphitheater area continues to be converted to a multi-purpose area with a scenic viewpoint of the river, pedestrian pathways and enhanced with support amenities for picnics, private rentals and other activities. Enriched pathways that are safe and inviting for pedestrians. Lilac Bowl retained for passive recreation use and for continued use for large public events such as th of July. Pavilion Center The new Pavilion Center may feature a permanent outdoor amphitheatre in the summer and renovated outdoor ice skating in the winter Enhanced river access/view-sheds and passive Integrate east/west River-walk system behind the Pavilion to the east end of Havermale Island with connections north and south to the Centennial Trail. Millennium Park, Chicago (Jeff Bailey) An elevated viewing tower, platform or attraction may be installed along the west river side of the Pavilion offering an outstanding view of the park, river and downtown Spokane Pavilion Center may be programmed during the core summer with concert or theatrical events. Non-programmed time may offer passive visual & audio experiences. A Center Courtyard - the slightly bowl-shaped Central Meadow (directly south of the IMAX) may be redeveloped into a large open public gathering space complete with permanent event service amenities. In the winter outdoor ice skating in the Pavilion. The current ice rink area may be enhanced in Pavilion or relocated & connected to the adjacent Center Courtyard with unique outdoor ice skating trails. A new entrance & guest service site may shift the main Pavilion entry point from its current location to a marquee front door on the south side of the current IMAX Theatre and Central Meadow. This area would serve visitors for functions at the Pavilion Center or Center Courtyard. Plaza Portland, OR (djc.com). Restored Pavilion with west entrance. Plaza area. Central Promenade. Open space and event overflow. Open space. Event space and river viewpoints. The current IMAX Theatre may be retained as a Digital D Giant Screen Theatre or re-purposed into another use. 3 () North Bank: The North Bank will primarily incorporate mixed-use development principles that will increase the intensity and diversity of public and private land uses. The goals for the North Bank integrate past master plans, case studies, stakeholder and public input and staff recommendations. These goals include the following: Develop destination features and attractions that will draw all types of demographics. Integrate additional entertainment possibilities, event space and open space into the North Bank area. Provide public/private partnerships that would incorporate existing businesses/events and proposed urban infill opportunities. Enhance river access/view-sheds and passive Improve transitions into the Park from the Arena and residential neighborhoods. diverse range of recreational activities. 4 () West Riverfront Park: The West Riverfront Park includes the area west of the Howard Street corridor to the former Bosch lot area and south to pathway connections to the Pavilion. The main facilities within this quadrant are Conservation area (former YMCA), Canada Island, Sister City Gardens & Courtyard project (former Japanese Gardens), two pedestrian bridges, Post Street Bridge (city owned), parking lots # & 7 (Bosch) and Veterans Court. Primary programming zones incorporated are cultural and conservation, open space with some commercial. The goals for the West Riverfront Park area integrate past master plans, case studies, stakeholder and public input and staff recommendations. These goals include the following:. Proposed cultural center / trailhead location. Pedestrian bridge. Centennial Trail. Theme Stream. Riverfront Park Conservation Area. Sister Cities Garden Trailhead (Fish Lake Trailhea Trailhead) ad) Develop destination features and attractions that will draw all types of demographics. The main facilities within this quadrant are the Carrousel, Rotary Fountain, SkyRide, Art Walk, Floating Stage, Red Wagon, Centennial Trail and Garbage Eating Goat. Primary programming zones incorporated are entertainment and open space /event zones, cultural & conservation. The goals for the South Riverfront Park area integrate past master plans, case studies, stakeholder and public input and staff recommendations. These goals include the following: Develop destination features and attractions that will draw all types of demographics all year long. Enhance connectivity and accessibility for pedestrians Open event space Seattle, WA (HR&A Advisors, Inc.)
