2 Terminal Layout for International Operations Gold Coast Airport has two terminals located in a single-storey building. Terminal 1 operates Jetstar and Qantas domestic flights, whereas Terminal 2 operates Virgin Blue domestic and all international flights. Terminal 2 is used for international operations and is located only 10 metres or a 1 minute walk from the coach bay for easy passenger processing (this has cost saving advantages for tour wholesalers for fast passenger transfers). Terminal Layout - Key benefits: Simple single story operations No aerobridges Common user facilities Ample parking bays Permanent customs, immigration and quarantine facilities Ground Handling Agent Gold Coast Airport Operating Specifications at March 2007 Page 2 of 12

5 Noise abatement A Curfew to local and noise Abatement Procedures apply. The preferred runway for take-off and landing is RWY 14. TAXIWAYS: A high strength parallel taxiway (Charlie) provides access to the main runway over some 1200 metres of its length, other taxiways of high strength used for access to and from the runway 14/32 and the RPT apron are: Taxiway Delta and Alpha. All high strength taxiways are designed for Code D, as part of the runway extension project all high strength taxiways will be upgraded to meet Code E aircraft requirements. This is supplemented by 506 metres of parallel taxiway for light aircraft use only. CURRENT RPT APRON: The main RPT apron can accommodate the following range of independent free moving aircraft, i.e. power in power out: 10 B737/A320 or 3 wide bodied (A330, B787, B777 and B767) Aircraft plus 7 B737/A320. A further two positions are available on the Charter apron for aircraft up to B737 size in addition to parking for six corporate type aircraft. Under the current design, there has been designated a Code E parking position to accommodate a A-330/B-777 aircraft types, this is managed with some downgrading of adjacent parking positions and taxiways. NEW RPT APRON: As part of the Terminal Upgrade project to be completed in 2007, the apron parking layout, and use, will be based on power in push back arrangements, the initial design will allow for approximately the same apron capacity as the current layout. Aircraft up to B777, B787, A330 will be further accommodated with the new apron. 6 Existing Airline Services There are five major operators at Gold Coast Airport including Qantas Airways, Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Pacific Blue and Freedom Air who combined operate an average of 36 daily domestic jet services to primarily Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Newcastle; and an average of 16 weekly services to New Zealand s Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton and Wellington. Permanent Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Facilities Gold Coast Airport has a permanent facility for processing international passengers and can facilitate 300 passengers at any one time. Other airline operational issues Gold Coast Airport Proprietary Limited has arrangements and procedures for dealing with emergencies, or possible emergencies, on or near Gold Coast Airport that may affect the airport s operations. Copies of the current Airport Emergency Plan can be made available if required. The Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) provides a formal record of the agreements reached between those agencies that are expected to respond to an emergency at Gold Coast Airport. The AEP is given legal effect under Queensland and New South Wales s legislation, but it also serves to confirm Gold Coast Airport s compliance with CASA requirements. Gold Coast Airport also has a Security Program. The Security Program is prepared to address specific aviation security legislation (Air Navigation Act 1920 & Regulations) administered by the Department of Transport and Regional Services (DoTaRS), but its provisions for regulating airside access are also sufficient to satisfy separate Civil Aviation Safety Authority and security requirements. Gold Coast Airport Curfew Conditions The Air Navigation (Coolangatta Airport Curfew) Regulations 1999(The Regulations) became effective on 22 December The regulations restrict aircraft movements at Gold Coast Airport between 2300 and 0600 HR Queensland local time. Aircraft above 34,000kg MTOW can only operate at Gold Coast Airport between 2300 and 0600 QLD local time if; 1. Gold Coast Airport is in use as the alternate airport. 2. Passenger and freight jet aircraft that have been permitted to operate under specific quota provisions contained in the regulations. 3. The aircraft is involved in an emergency situation. 4. The aircraft operator has applied to the Secretary of the Department of Transport and Regional Services for a dispensation to operate during curfew hours.
