2 Setting the stage The year is 7680CE and the republic envisaged by Plato has matured into a highly advanced civilisation. The Republic is a series of audiovisual dialogues exploring the vast architecture of the administrative and institutional capital. This urban design is based on a fusion encompassing Plato s theory of transcendent form and ancient Chinese Feng Shui principles. The design invokes meta material concepts to channel waves of wisdom from the transcendent domain to the individual ministries and the geometry renders any variations in Qi as a constant holistic harmony. 3 Introduction and call for sponsors This documents seeks to show potential sponsors of The Republic some of the first crude attempts to apply abstract structures derived from the Transcendent Form Transcode Algorithm, TTA, as a floor and building plan for a futuristic urban environment. See links section at the end of this document for further details of the TTA. A brief description appears below: The TTA, discovered by Stefan Samociuk, is based on prime number arithmetic and generates infinite, intelligently ordered geometric structures in all prime dimensional spaces. In themselves, they are exceedingly complex, however they can be transcoded into simpler constructs more easily recognisable by our visual senses. This subject is now under consideration as a mathematical basis for designing meta materials, especially photonic and plasmonic crystals by modelling computational rules directly into geometrical constructs, optical hardware algorithms. 4 How the urban images are produced. Each point on a 2D transcode represents an (x,y) coordinate of lattice points and an integer value which is the top hierarchical value, the primary, for example: 0 = open space 1 = building type 1 2 = building type = grassed area 7 = water area..etc Also for each lattice point a list of numbers, variation parameters, can be derived by considering the values of neighbouring points, this collection of numbers is used to perform a secondary modification on the primary: number of floors, number of facets on the base structure, colour, material etc. In these simple examples we have limed this to just a handful. Later on this will be increased to hundreds, possibly thousands of variation parameters to give a rich and diverse design structure, holistic in its immediate surroundings. 9 Project Objectives An exhibition of audiovisual art to experience the vastness of the Transcode Algorithm. An audiovisual ideas resource for architects, urban planners and students. A web resource to access and generate sequences of video from the model. An exhibition consisting of: A video flyover of the urban landscape produced at 8K UHDTV standard with 24 channel audio using gtag, graphic Trajectory Audio Generation, mp3 sample here and see links page. High detail paper prints in a 16:9 ratio, possibly up to 16m long by 9m high. Live performance of a dancer equipped in a motion capture suit interacting with the transcode structure using dtag, dance Trajectory Audio Generation, see photo below and links page. SoundScape Navigator project in cooperation with Thomas Freundlich, Finland, and produced in Holland with XSENS motion capture equipment.

10 Video production notes. The size of current transcode structures being researched are about 120,000 by 120,000 points of 8bit value, so about 14GB in size. Each point represents a space or building and if the unit size is 20m then the resulting structure would be 2400km across. It would take a commercial jet nearly three hours to fly end to end along a single line. If the aerial view encompassed 100 buildings across the frame then 1200 flyovers would be required to film the whole structure, 3600hrs of video! As the animation images will contain very complex architectures, smoothness of video will be paramount, however, 8K TV can have frame rates of up 120fps. Colour bits on the 8K TV may be a issue for realistic rendering, an alternative might be to use a video wall of up to date 2K or 4K monitors.
