10 Targets of the Turkish Textile & Clothing Industry: To continue supporting the Turkish economy, through investments, exports and employment, To enhance its share in the global textile & clothing markets with high quality, fashionable and value added products, To restructure domestically, delocalizing the production into Anatolia and making Istanbul a design, fashion, R&D and overseas marketing center, To create and increase the number of companies with regional and global brands.

11 PROMOTION OF INVESTMENTS & EMPLOYMENT IN ANATOLIA Law # 5084 was put into effect on Feb. 6 th, 2004 with the aim of; Eliminating regional and social differences, by creating sustainable economy in the east and south east regions and the less developed provinces through new investments and employment What the law 5084 brings (for 5 years); Discount on electricity prices, (max 50 percent), Exemption from income tax, Exemption from the employers share of the Social Insurance cost, free factory land.

TURKISH CLOTHING INDUSTRY The root of textile production in Turkey goes centuries back to the Ottoman period. The textile production was quite widespread and advanced in the 16th century in Turkey, while
