A part of this division is a specialised centre for excavated and driven shafts, galleries, and small-profile sewage and utility tunnels, a centre for linear water management structures, a centre for gas lines, a metalwork centre, a centre for waterproofing and a civil works centre. The division is currently extending its activities to the field of technological, power engineering, and transport structures both at home and abroad, in particular in Balkan countries. Top technological equipment enables its workers to build complete roads and motorways, steel, sandwich- -structure, and reinforced concrete bridges and other transportation structures. It is capable of designing, developing and using totally new working and technological procedures, especially for technically exacting bridge structures. It has got its own capacities for the production and laying of asphalt mixes as well as a plant equipped with technology for placing motorway, runway or industrial concrete covers. Its earth moving service participates in transportation and industrial construction projects, carries out basement complexes of commercial premises and factory buildings, complete site preparation, demolition and recycling. The division operates standard, over-sized cargo technological and non-technological freight haulage. The division also pursues its activities outside the Czech Republic (Poland, Slovakia). It is the holder of company s key technologies for the construction of tunnels and underground structures. It has at its disposal its own highly skilled professionals for the construction of tunnels using the NATM (the New Austrian Tunnelling Method), the Drill & Blast (the so-called Scandinavian method) and full- -face tunnelling machines (TBM). It can also cope with the construction of complicated reinforced concrete bridges and railway or tramway structures. 28 DIVISION 6 Division 6 is a building division working in the position of the general contractor, mostly in the segments of water management, industrial and power engineering construction projects, community and residential buildings. The division has a specialised department for reinforced concrete structures which acts as internal sponsor of this core technology. Within its framework, the division offers services of a rebar processing plant, a carpentry plant and a formwork and scaffolding rental plant. It operates all over the Czech Republic and in Slovakia and Poland. It has regional offices in the regions of South Bohemia and Vysočina and manages Metrostav s organisation component in Croatia.
