4 Rotary Voltage Motors, General Information Δ - connection Pin assignment The motors usually have a terminal board with terminals and one grounded conductor clamp in the terminal box. The stator winding can be switched into star or delta connection using the connection pieces. A star/delta start is not suitable for screw jac systems because the full torque is already required from the start. Operating voltage 0 V delta: Motor winding 0/0 V Operating voltage 0 V delta: Motor winding 0/ V Y - connection Rotation direction The motors can be operated in both rotation directions. When connecting the line phases in the order L1, L2, L3 to the motor terminals U1, V1 W1, the rotation direction is right-handed. A reversal of the rotation direction is effected by reversing two of the supply lines. Speeds Rotary voltage motors have different rotational speeds depending on the number of poles. Generally we recommend our standard motor with min-1 (-poles). Other numbers of poles on request. Pole-changeable motors can be operated with 2 different rotational speeds. Operation with frequency converter FU Especially for larger screw jacs and systems, we recommend using a frequency converter to achieve smooth startup and brae ramps. This minimizes startup noise and extends the service life of the gearbox. When operating with a frequency converter, tae into account that a separately driven fan is required for longer operation periods under 2 Hz. This is necessary to ensure adequate motor cooling. When operating a brae motor with frequency converter, use a separate control line for the brae via the frequency converter. Brae motor We recommend using a brae motor to minimize the lag-time of the system. A brae is absolutely necessary for gearboxes with ball screws or 2-pitch spindles. We deliver motor braes with bridge rectifier as standard for connection voltage 0V AC / operating voltage V DC. Other connection voltages (V DC, 0V AC, 0V AC) on request. Temperature control Generally we do not deliver a temperature control because the operating period of screw jacs is normally very short or the motor has adequate dimensions. Up until now, this was only possible with complex assembly and mounting on to the drive system and is now very cost effective with very simple assembley, also when retrofitting drives. This magnetic pulse encoder is fitted as intermediate flange between motor and motor flange. This simplifies the integration of incremental encoders in drive systems considerably whether to adapt the speed, as positioning control (e.g. for dosage control) or digital synchronisation control. We also deliver a 2 m cable as standard.
