1 Instructors Only Web Site Resources The NRP database can be accessed on the NRP web site at In the Instructor Only section of the database, you will be able to: Change your personal information such as mailing address, phone number, or e- mail address; Publicize upcoming NRP courses on the web site; and Submit NRP course rosters. To begin, go to and Click on the Instructor Only Login button, located in the lower middle of the page. Use your NRP Instructor ID number without any dashes or spaces as your ID and your last name as your password if you are a first time user. The system will prompt you to select a new password (first use only). The system is sensitive to hyphenated names or two last names. In these instances, type name exactly as on your NRP Instructor card. You should now be on the Security Question page. Type an answer to one of the questions and then type in your new password twice. The password is case sensitive and must have minimum of 6 characters, using a combination of letters and numbers. The last line is to verify that your is correct. If not, please make the correction and then click on Save. Once this is completed, you will automatically go to your Information Summary page. Some individuals, after typing in their NRP ID# and last name, find themselves on another page requesting that they type in a password before the security page. If this should happen, type the same password on both lines. The password must have a minimum of six characters. Now you should be on the security page. If you already entered your security information and forget your password, you can use the Forgot Password Link. Click on the Forgot Password link. Enter your NRP ID# without any dashes or spaces and click on Submit. Type in the answer to your secret question and click on Submit. Type in your new password on the first line and retype the new password on the second line, click on Save. You should now be on your Information Summary page. If you can t remember your secret question or get locked out of the system, the NRP office at lifesupport@aap.org or call 847/ Microsoft Explorer Users Only: We have learned that approximately 50% of the time a pop-up box will come up in Explorer, after you enter your last name asking if you want Explorer to remember your password. Please click no. Explorer remembers your last name and not the password that you will create as the next step. If the pop-up box comes up after you put in your password, than click on yes. 1
2 Information Summary The first page you will see is the Information Summary page. This page gives you the dates of your two-year time frame, number of courses taught during that period, and total of courses approved. Change Your Personal Information Such as Mailing Address, Phone Number or e- mail address Click on update info. To add the suffix Jr or Sr, click on the arrow on the drop-down box and select the appropriate suffix. To add a credential, click on the arrow on the drop-down box, select the appropriate credential and then click the add button. The new credential will appear in the display box. Repeat this step to add as many credentials as are appropriate. Type any new or revised information about your address, phone number, or e- mail address. When selecting the state, type in the first letter of the state you reside in and continue to type the first letter of your state until your state appears, as they are alphabetically listed in the computer ( if you reside in Tennessee, type the letter "t" if you reside in Texas, type the letter "t" twice. When changing your address, please use the standard upper and lowercase format. Your address must be entered if you are to receive a response of the status of your submitted roster. Select your preferred mailing address by clicking the appropriate radio button. To add a language that you read or speak fluently, click on the arrow on the dropdown box, select the appropriate language, and click the add button. The language will appear in the display box. When adding your title to the database, you do not need to enter your credentials. Your credentials are already listed. (ie: Brenda Jackson, RN would not have a title of Registered Nurse but she could have a title of Nursing Director.) The AAP has established a new privacy policy for NRP Instructors and Providers. In the past, when providers were looking for a NRP course in their area, a list of instructors was mailed to them. The enhancement to the NRP Instructor Only database allows instructors to choose not to be listed when future providers are looking for an instructor or course in their area. If you do not want providers who are looking for a NRP course to contact you, click the checkbox labeled Do not display my information to the public. If you check this box, future providers will not be able to contact you. If this box is checked, you will still receive reminders and updates from the NRP staff. Please be aware that the Academy does not sell instructor contact information. Click the Update button at the bottom of the page. Corrections will not become updated until Update is clicked. Your records are now updated and you will return to the Information Summary page. 2
