1 Course Title 6th Grade Math Course Outcomes SWBAT apply understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. SWBAT compute fluently with multi-digit numbers and find common factor multiples. SWBAT apply multiplication and division to include fractions and decimals exclusively from one another. SWBAT extend understandings of arithmetic to identify and evaluate algebraic expressions. SWBAT solve one-variable equations and inequalities using dependent and independent variables. 6 SWBAT develop concepts of ratio and rate in order to solve a variety of problems and to initiate an understanding of percent. 7 8 SWBAT recognize the use of statistical variability and examine distributions. SWBAT solve real world and mathematical problems involving area, surface area and volume.

Decimals: Multiplication and Division SWBAT apply multiplication and division properties to solve problems with decimals. 3. Factors, Exponents, and Expressions SWBAT write factors, exponents, and evaluate expressions 4. Fractions: Addition and Subtraction SWBAT apply addition and subtraction properties to solve problems with fractions. 5. Fractions: Multiplication and Division SWBAT apply multiplication and division properties to solve problems with fractions. 6. Operations with Integers SWBAT compute expressions with integers. 7. Inequalities SWBAT solve one-variable equations and inequalities using dependant and independent variables. 8. Ratios, Rates, and Percents SWBAT analyze ratios, rates, and percents. 9. Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional Shapes SWBAT analyze the relationships between two-dimensional and three-simensional shapes. 10. Data Analysis and Graphs SWBAT apply principles of data analysis to model and solve problems using various representations such as graphs, tables, and equations.

SWBAT describe geometrical figures and the relationship between them. 5 SWBAT solve real world and mathematical problems involving angle measurement, area, surface area and volume. 6 7 SWBAT draw both direct and comparative inferences using random sampling of one or more populations. SWBAT investigate chance processes in order to develop, use, and evaluate probability models.

Factors, Fractions, and Equivalent Forms SWBAT write rational numbers in equivalent forms (convert fractions to decimals and vice versa). 5. Complex Operations Using Fractions SWBAT apply operations to simplify numerical expressions containing fractions. 6. Algebraic Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities SWBAT simplify algebraic expressions and solve equations and inequalities. 7. Ratios and Proportions SWBAT apply knowledge of ratios to write and solve proportions. 8. Percentages SWBAT apply principles of percentages to solve real-world problems. 9. Elements of Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimsional Geometric Figures SWBAT solve real-world and mathematical problems involving angle measurement, area, surface area, volume and transformations. 10. Data Analysis Probability 11. SWBAT draw inferences about a population to evaluate chance processes and probability models.

SWBAT solve real-world and mathematical problems involving geometric formulas and measurement. SWBAT illustrate congruence and similarity using physical models and other tools. SWBAT analyze patterns of association in bivariate data.

Ratios, proportions, and percents SWBAT analyze rates, proportions, similarity and congruence. 5. Percentages SWBAT apply percentages to real-world situations. 6. Lines and linear equations SWBAT explain functions, slope, intercept, and function notation. 7. Systems and Linear Inequalities SWBAT graph systems of 2 equations and linear inequalities. 8. Identifying, simplifying, and estimating irrational numbers SWBAT analyze irrational numbers by identifying, simplifying, and estimating. 9. Geometric formulas and measurement to include Pythagorean Theorem SWBAT apply geometric formulas to two- and three-dimensional figures, including circles, triangles, rectangles, cylinders, and triangular and rectangular prisms. 10.
