3 ANNUAL SUMMIT 2016 LECTURERS AND COMPANIES DR ULF SVERDRUP is the Director of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). He holds a doctoral degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo. Before taking up the position at NUPI, he was a professor at the Norwegian Business School BI, and he has also been a research professor and researcher at the ARENA, Centre for European Studies, at the University of Oslo. During his career Sverdrup has published extensively on various topics in international politics, with a particular emphasis on European politics, European integration and Norwegian Foreign Policy. Sverdrup was the Head of the Secretariat for the Official Norwegian Europe Review (NOU 2012:2) which assessed the impacts and implications of Norway s agreements with the EU. He has been a Jean Monnet fellow at the European University Institute, a Visiting scholar at the Mannheimer Zentrum für Europäische Sozialforschung, and he has also worked as senior advisor in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is a regular contributor to Dagens Næringsliv. DR JOSTEIN TVEDT is Chief Strategist at Danske Bank Markets, Norway. He has earlier held similar positions with Danske Bank in Copenhagen and has worked as shipping analyst and senior economist at DnB and as chief strategist at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), Oslo. He has been visiting researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds a dr. oecon. degree from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), where he also has been associate professor in international and maritime economics. His international academic publications are primarily in the fields of real option theory, maritime finance and international macroeconomics. KRISTINE PETROSYAN is a Senior Energy Analyst at the Parisbased International Energy Agency (IEA), where she currently leads oil refining and trade analysis for both the World Energy Outlook (WEO) series, the Agency's authoritative analysis of long-term global energy trends, and the highly-regarded Oil Market Report. She started her career in the energy industry as an upstream commercial analyst for BP in London and moved on to trading analysis in BP, and later in Glencore. She graduated from the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow and has an MSc in Energy Studies from the University of Dundee in Scotland.

4 TORBJØRN KJUS is today recognised as one of the world s leading oil industry commentators/analysts and he is the number one ranked oil analyst in Norway. He was one of the first oil price contrarians and has since 2011 provided regular updates to the US Treasury Department (Markets Room) on oil prices and the global oil market. He argued early in 2012 that international oil prices would stabilise and even drop as the US shale oil industry would be a game changer for the global oil market. He has 14 years of experience in the oil industry and is a well-known name in this space. He provides regular updates of the oil market to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and is frequently interviewed/quoted in media, like Wall Street Journal, Platts, Bloomberg, Reuters, Dow Jones Newswires, Montel, CNBC, Norwegian television channels (NRK/TV2), Nordic financial media (Dagens Næringsliv/Finansavisen/ Dagens Industri), etc. Prior to joining DNB, his previous role includes more than 5 years as an oil market analyst and oil trader at Norsk Hydro in Oslo and BP in London. PER MAGNUS NYSVEEN is in charge of the analyst team. He has broad experience within upstream valuation, cost modelling and oil macro analyses. He has particular expertise in unconventional activities and is in charge of the North American Shale Analysis. Prior to joining Rystad Energy in 2004, Per Magnus had 15 years of international experience within technology, risk management and venture business, primarily from DNV GL and the CNES space centerof France. He holds an M.Sc. degree from NTNU and IFP Paris DR PER OLAF BRETT, (D.B.A/Dr.oecon) from Brunel University, Henley Management College, UK; MBA, Henley Management College, UK; Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Management Consultancy (ADIPC), Henley Management College, UK. Dr Brett is currently employed as Deputy Managing Director of Ulstein International AS and Vice President of Ulstein Group ASA, working primarily with market intelligence and business development for the Group. He was previously employed by DNV GL in various positions and international assignments in In 2002 to 2007 Dr Brett held a position as Research Project Director for the programme Effective Transportation at DNV. KJARTAN BRU has 15 years of experience in banking both in Paris and Oslo, the last 10 years in the Shipping, Offshore & Logistics division in DNB, the largest financial institution in Norway and a global leader within the maritime shipping and offshore segments. Kjartan Bru is heading DNB s shipping, offshore and logistics activities out of London covering Central Europe, Middle East and Africa. Kjartan Bru studied economy at the University of Toulouse before graduating from ESCP Europe, a Paris based French business school.

5 BIRGITTE RINGSTAD VARTDAL has served as CFO of Golden Ocean Management AS since Her previous position was Vice President, Investments, prior to which she served as the VP and Head of Commercial Controlling at the Torvald Klaveness Group. Birgitte graduated with an Master ( Siv.Ing ) in Physics and Mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). In addition, she holds an Masters of Science (MSc) in Financial Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. Birgitte is also Chair of the board of Sevan Drilling Ltd. KJERSTI KLEVEN is Chairman of the Board and co-owner of the Norwegian ship building group Kleven Maritime AS, which operates two ship yards with around 700 employees. She is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ekornes ASA. Ms Kleven has served on the board at Telenor ASA, Kristian Jebsens Rederi AS, and Nordvest Forum AS. She was Board Member for 8 years in Maritime Industry Association, the last 7 of these she served as chairman ( ), she as well served 6 years as board member of The Federation of Norwegian Industries, the last two as chairman ( ). She was previously researcher with FAFO (the Institute for Labor and Social Research), Personnel Manager at Rolls-Royce Marine and Project Manager at Nordvest Forum. She holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Oslo. SOLVEIG FRØLAND is Director Shipping, Yards, and Offshore Projects at GIEK (the Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency). She holds a degree in economics and is an authorised finance analyst with an MBA in finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen. Before joining GIEK in 2014, she worked for 20 years in Nordea as a senior customer relations officer in shipping, offshore and oil service. Solveig has special expertise in international project financing and restructuring of exposed contracts. JARLE ROTH is CEO of Eksportkreditt Norge AS. Mr Roth joined the company from the Umoe Group, where he was Deputy Chief Executive. Previously he has served as Chief Executive Officer at Unitor ASA and at the Umoe Schat-Harding Group. Mr Roth is a board member of Ekornes ASA and Kongsberg Gruppen ASA. He has also served on the boards of a number of companies in the maritime sector, and has previoulsy been the board chair of Norske Skog ASA.

6 GENERAL (ret) SVERRE DIESEN served as Norway s Chief of Defence from 1 April 2005 to 30 September He is a graduate of the Norwegian Military Academy, the Norwegian Staff College and Army Command and Staff College, Camberley (UK). He also holds a MSc in civil engineering from Norway s University of Science and Technology. He has served in a number of command and staff positions, including CO of His Majesty the King s Guards, Chief of Staff 6 Division and Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategy and Long Term Planning in Norway s Defence HQ. He is currently working as a research fellow at The Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (NDRE), Analysis Division, and is engaged on a number of projects supporting Norwegian long term defence planning, including cyber warfare, network enabling capabilities and the future security environment. ANDRÉ URSTAD is one of the founding partners of Maritime Analytics AS. He has been active as an analyst and advisor to the shipping industry for more than 15 years and is currently heading our dry bulk market research. Prior to Maritime Analytics, André was a partner at Marsoft International AS, where he worked as an analyst for more than 10 years. He holds an MA (Hons) in Finance from University of Strathclyde. PATRICK E. TYE is Senior Analyst at E. A. Gibson Shipbrokers Ltd in London, UK, where he has been since They have been in service for 123 years, have 4 offices around the world (London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Houston), and some 180 employees. They offer services within Dry Cargo, Offshore, Tankers, Specialised Tankers, LNG, LPG, Projects and S&P, and Research. Gibsons are also members of The Baltic Exchange as well as a contributing broker for the London Tanker Brokers Panel and associate members of INTERTANKO. ERIK TØNNE is Head of Offshore Research at Clarksons Platou Offshore. Prior to joining Clarksons Platou, he has worked as an Equity Research analyst covering oil services at Arctic Securities and SpareBank1 Markets, and as a Consultant and Project Leader at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He will make his presentation with his colleague Sven Ziegler from the Offshore Research Team.
